While Ramos art improved, I still don't like it, and more often than not, it can destroy the momentum of any dramatic story.

While many people hated OMD, the Back in Black arcs are very significant. The attitude towards life by Peter back in those days, is exactly what SpOck will be exhibing. Far more ruthless and self absorbed. A parasite lives off of a living host. Ock is the parasite to Peter Parkers body and brains(memories included), he is truly schizoid. Master Planner or not, Doc Ock has not been MENTALLY stable since his accident.He's in the body of a guy who has the stregnth capable of killing any normal human being with ONE punch. SpOck is a reference I like when it comes to Superior Spider-Man. Just like Spock planted his consciousness into Dr. McCoy.Otto did not kill Peter Parker, he couldn't. The end of #1 sets the stage IMO for the ongoing battle between Peter Parker and Ock.

I just bought Superior Spider-Man #1 today at Midtown Comics. Haven't read it yet, so I'll give my thoughts probably tomorrow.

On the shelf, a label said "Ask about our Variant Covers behind the counter." I take a look and they were $60 each. If only...

Well, I read Superior last week....liked it. Stegman's art is on point, to me. Loved his stuff since he was on Scarlet Spider. Personally, I cannot wait to see the resolution to this. We all know how it will end, more or less, but I think I will enjoy the ride with Otto as Spidey...so long as editiorial doesn't tie Dan Slott's hands behind his back. Last time that happened...well, we won't go there.

I didn't want to like this when I read it, but I found myself liking it a little. Hopefully they'll have it be Otto assuming more of Peters' persona and being a good person and not 'Yeah I'm totally Peter Parker, just look at me' and acting like Ock. That was was bothered me about it. But the ending gives me a bit of hope for...something, I don't know quite yet.

Knowing full well (well, assuming) that part of what's going to happen here is tear down everything Peter has built up since Big Time began, my only major concern is that there was finally the suggestion of Peter and MJ coming back together as a couple, albeit unmarried but that's fine, and that this will be one of the aspects of Peter's life that is going to be well and truly screwed.

Whatever happens, however Peter will ultimately be found not to blame, I think something will happen with MJ while Ock is still around that will make it next to impossible for MJ to trust or be intimate with Peter again simply because she'll "see" Ock everytime she looks at him.

A recent interview thing, Dan Slott said something about Ock having a redemption arc /starting with/ the Superior Spider-Man shtick.

HMMMMM.

Anyway. I never expected Spider-Ock to last long; I'm just enjoying the ride while it lasts!

I'm guessing it's Miquel O'Hara as well.

And I'm thinking Peter challenging Doc Ock for control of his own body won't necessarily result in him retaking control. Rather, I'm guessing what will happen is Doc Ock now becomes aware of Ghost Peter's presence but, since Peter realizes that retaking control of his body would mean killing Doc Ock, Peter and Doc Ock will then be forced to "work together" until a more permanent solution can be found.

Or, it could be that Mary Jane breaks up with "Peter." Or, if we're going the possible death or injury route, there's always Jay Jameson (course, I guess him almost every single time, so... )

Well, what about this idea? We know thanks to Avenging Spider-Man #16 that the Jackal is back and doing his cloning business again. But what if instead of cloning Peter again, the Jackal clones Doctor Octopus? After all, the Jackal could easily obtain the DNA from Doc Ock's corpse and, since the more perfected clones usually end up having the memories and personality of the original, this clone of Doc Ock would have the memories and personality before he did the mind swap with Peter. Thus, we could potentially have a scenario in which Peter and Doc Ock, both in Peter's body, team up to fight against "Doc Ock."
