Yeah, wrong choice of words. English is my 2nd language (like Dr. King Schultz), so sometimes wrong choice of words maybe.

I saw 4 films this year that I didn't like and that's actually quite a high number for me. Usually it's only 1 or 2 a year because I know what I like and I choose not to waste my time of $ on films I'm pretty sure I won't enjoy.

You may not be able to always tell a book by it's cover but you can guess right most of the time and save yourself the trouble.
I love watching movies...all types. I will watch anything at least once. I know many of the movies will be bad before I even put the disc in the player....but I don't care, I give it a shot. I watched almost 500 movies last year....some great, some terrible. Sometimes a terrible movie is interesting in one way or another. To you, it is a waste of time. To me, it is a hobby. I don't drink, I don't use drugs, I don't spend 4 or 5 days a week out with the boys. I throw a disc in the player and watch some movies. You say it is a waste of money. Well, it's not like I spend $20 on a movie I know will be bad. I'll pay around $10 for one of those boxes with 50 or 100 movies in them. In those kind of sets, there are good and bad movies in there...but for pennies a movie, it's no big deal if a movie is terrible.

Fair enough. I was more or less speaking to all the yahoos that watch tons of films(here and on youtube and other places) that then turn around and complain all the time about it with they're "I want the last two hours of my life back" type comments. It's as if getting to complain is the main thing they are after. And I don't have to tell you that listening to people complain can get old real fast.

Ok, I understand you now. Yeah, I don't see why they make complaints like that either. I enter each movie as a an adventure....some are just more enjoyable than others. The way I see it...2 hours spent watching a terrible movie in my house....is always better than 2 hours spent shoveling **** on a horsefarm in 100 degree weather.

Mood
Desire to have fun making fun of a bad film
Benefit of the doubt
Give the film a second chance or more
Fond of the genre, try to like the movie for that reason

Etc etc.....

I've believed for a long time that a film can live or die on it's ending. There have been times when a film I've really enjoyed craps it's pants at the ending ruins what would have otherwise been a good or even great movie. Examples aren't coming to me because I probably make a willful effort to forget most them. There's also the opposite, although much more rare, where a film will be pretty bland and then the ending happens, you have the full picture and you realize damn, that was a good movie after all.

Primer might just be it.

Oh God was it painful. 77 minutes yet it felt longer. Just goes to show films like Braveheart which is three hours just flies by because it's that good.

Ghost Rider: SOV, Ted, The Retrievers. The first two just fell way, way short of my expectations, and the third had a weak plot even for a kids film.

Batman Forever - I rank this one even lower than B&R. At least with B&R there's all the extra comedy of the rabid batman fan boys and their conniptions over it.

3.5/10

The last movie I watched was Paranormal Activity 3. What a pile of steaming buffalo spunk that was.

Battleship - oh my god what a stupid P.O.S. of a movie, I'm watching it now on HBO that I slept through it and am now watching a repeat showing of it because it's just unwatchable.

Clearly a thinly disguised Transformers rip-off that they even got it's same composer Steve Jablonsky to do the score too, filled with every cliche in the book we've got Taylor Kitsch as the underachieving navy soldier who's in love with some chick that has a disapproving father who's Capt of the navy or something like that.

And of course we get the obligatory montage of all the navy crew working together to stop the aliens, we got a handicapped dude with prosthetic legs who actually fights hand to hand with an alien.

I will say this though Taylor Kitsch may not be the greatest actor ever but at least he shows some semblance of emotional acting range compared to a stiff as a board Channing Tatum.

If you want an indelible image burned into your brain watch the original Sleepaway Camp and try not to lose all bowel movements at the movie's conclusion.
