I hope one or two future Avengers can have solo films after Avengers comes out & then be introduced to the team in a sequel. Black Panther would be a good start.

Either that or introduce BP in Avengers II and then do a Solo. As long as we get one.

I think we'll get a BP movie in 2014 or 2015 and I hope we'll get an anouncement at SDCC. Either him, Iron Fist or Dr. Strange are probably the next big MCU movie

Feige has said that they'll announce their film slate for 2013 and 2014 (and maybe 2015) by the end of the summer. Won't necessarily be at Comic Con, especially since Marvel Studios won't be there this year.

Regarding Heroes for Hire, they should really skip all the origin stuff. That's the least favorite part of comic movies for the general audience, and working in two disparate origins into a single film is going to make it harder to tell a good story. Personally, I think the movie should start In Medias Res, with Luke Cage and Iron Fist having already been partners for a few months. They can flashback to shortened versions of their origins later in the movie, or even reduce those origins to a couple lines of dialogue. But in my opinion any movie with them should really start by establishing an already existing partnership between the two characters in the first five minutes of the movie.

At the end of the day, all the audience really needs to know is that A) Luke Cage is super-strong and invulnerable, B) Iron Fist is a Ku Fung master with a magic martial arts power, and C) They've both known each other for a while and hire their services out to people in need, and go from there. Now that would be interesting and make for a great change of pace from your standard comic movie fare.

So, thought of an interesting dilemma/question today.

Regarding the Incredible Hulk TV series, that may or may not include Mark Ruffallo, where will that fit into the MCU? Same continuity? Stand alone? Or will the TV shows have their OWN continuity?

Also, it really raises the question, would some characters be better suited to an ongoing TV series, either before their movie or instead of any movie altogether?

I'm gonna reserve the right to change my mind later, but for now I'd prefer the TV shows & MCU movies to be separate.

But do you want all the TV shows to be connected or have each as a standalone thing?

I actually think some characters like Heroes for Hire, Moon Knight, Punisher would all make cool TV shows, and then it would be awesome if they WERE in the same universe, just amounting to certain references etc. Like a gang illegally dealing Stark tech weapons, or Punisher drawing comparisons between himself and Cap as different types of Soldiers, like he does in the comics.

Then, once they've all been established, they can be mentioned in movies or vice versa. It would certainly be efficient, if Marvel is wanting to release 2 Marvel movies per year, and have a couple of TV series running during the rest of the year. That would be something amazing :P

I haven't given it much thought, to tell the truth. I can see pros & cons either way. If they can pull it off, I guess I'd be fine with that.

My main reason for not wanting the TV series & movies in the same continuity is because I want the Hulk done faithfully for once. None of this Bixby TV show, or Ultimate Universe stuff in there. Both AngHulk & TIH addressed those. I want Del Toro's Hulk series to be 616(Gamma Bomb, Rick Jones, Bruce is a nuclear physicist, dad killed Bruce's mother and later died long before Hulk came around, Hulk is his own full character right from the begining, etc.). Now you really can't have THAT in the same continuity as something like TIH. So I'd prefer them separate.

So who do you guys see as the next big franchise player for Marvel? Does the company have another potential Summer Tent pole in them, or are the next several characters going to have to settle for spring movies with half the budget of the big characters?

Black Panther, Dr. Strange & Namor could be big, tent-pole types.

Those are the only ones I can see. A cosmic movie would require a big budget, but I can't see Marvel risking doing a Captain Mar-Vell movie or something similar after Green Lantern bombed.

Actually, I can. I didn't even think about one of those. But Silver Surfer is their best property to do something like that with and he's stuck at FOX. But things like that and a Namor movie I would want them only to try quite a bit further down the road when MS is more established so they can have the confidence to put the necessary $ into bringing these unseen worlds to the screen. A Namor movie, given proper budget(really big) and direction could rival Avatar in terms of showing audiences a new world they've never fully seen before(most of the movie would take place far below the sea).

Yeah, I'm thinking SHIELD could be a great way to intro other Marvel characters like Luke Cage etc too.

Because we only get 2nd rate quality from TV in general? I think that's an outdated opinion.
