What if the only the black areas themselves were a dark red? Seems to me that would be enough red without having the faux trunks look.

Any thoughts on the shield? I like how it looks more like a family crest that a superhero emblem.

I posted this over in the fan art page as well. The picture is extremely large so I'm just going to link to it.

I'll admit when I first saw the symbol it just looked odd to me but after many months of looking at it I now love it, more so than the traditional symbol.

These are pretty much my thoughts exactly. At first, i wasnt so sure, but it grew on me more and more over the passing months. That picture that was posted a few days ago, "The Evolution of the S Symbol" that showed the progression of the shield emblem sealed it for me. The MOS symbol is the best out of all of them!!!!

I prefer it without all the extraneous detail all over it here (the Nike symbol and the dirt/grime). I'd like if they just kept it's silhouette for the marketing cause I love the streamlined shape.

The first time I saw it I had that confused dog look... lol But it grew on me pretty quickly. I think it awesome and it has become my favorite over all. I love it's old meets new design. Everything about it I'm a fan of. Like how the middle of the S is thick and the ends thin, how wide it is from left to right. How it looks like the S is trying to break free from the border giving it a more rounded design (that was the part that took me the longest to appreciate until I gave it my own reasoning). And I like that it looks "real", if you will.

As for the new MOS crest, I love it. It retains the fluid lines of the original 'S' symbol from years ago, but adds much more texture, detail and layers. It's the first Superman crest I've seen which (in MY opinion ) is believable as a family crest, and not just a big 'S' which writers are trying to come up with a history or reason for Superman having it.![]() The very rich red/gold used in it are also less vibrant than the normal bright red/yellow used in the comics, and look more regal - which reinforces the whole effect. |

The New 52 shield won't be used in such a widespread manner, nor will this MOS shield. |

Such reasoning will not be tolerated, however, especially here. Quote:
And your point is moot: the classic symbol was not used in the Donner films. The classic symbol has only ever been used in live-action on the two Superboy costumes. |
