Wow. I do see the similarities. I just hope reverse logic doesn't apply in this case and that when Cavill gets older he doesn't look like Mel Gibson does now.

Seriously, Supes with long hair occasionally looked cool in the post-Death/Return comics, but it depended on who was drawing him. Some artists just drew him with longer hair, but others (especially Dan Jurgens, who is still my favorite Superman artist, despite this) gave him full-on hockey hair.

This is the packaging from some of the new toys. I'm not sure if it's a picture that's been photoshopped a little or just a very detailed illustration based on an original picture, but either way, Cavill's angry/serious Superman face looks great. It's uncanny how much he looks like the original comic character brought to life - look at that gritted jaw and the intense eyes

Yeah he looks great as Superman. A very grown up, strong and intense Superman at last. I hope he wears glasses at least once in the movie and that they release photos sometime in the next couple of months.

Cavill has mystique. Honestly, I've NEVER, ever felt this way about a lead role quite EVER. This is my first time experiencing being OBSESSED waiting for a movie. I might buy every toy just to get every image of Cavill I can. Dude is just going to be flat out Earth-shattering as Superman.
