Yeah, it's a shame. Cassaday's art isn't even a great fit for this kind of book. I'd much rather see someone with a bit more energy to their art take over.

Cassady's art is overrated. People need to realize that looking at his panels here, its not that great and really not worth the wait

At this rate he'll hopefully be off the book before June.

Yes actually. It's a sequel to the Dark Angel Saga from Uncanny X-Force

^^ I'm pretty pumped for that too!
Have Apocalypse and Thor ever fully faced off before??

I know this is young Thor who's gunna fight him, but still pretty exciting
also, interested to see if it ties into the god-butcher story from Aaron's book as well...

Remender made a mention that there's some sort of connection to what's going on now in Thor. How extensive that connection is we don't know.

I can't imagine how this God Butcher arc fits into what's going on in Uncanny Avengers.

^^well, it wont tie into the current Red Skull arc per se, but the next one, which seems to feature a story from the past of young Thor fighting an earlier version of Apocalypse

IDK, didn't the Skull seem just a tad too powerful with Xavier's brain? Thor literally became his ***** and Cap was running around in circles all issue. Is/was Xavier really that powerful? Is it because he never used his powers for evil (except Onslaught, if you want to count that) or did perhaps the Skull do some extra tinkering with it in the laboratory beforehand.

I always figured Xavier could do whatever he damn well pleased but just refused to use his powers so aggressively for ethical reasons. The narration says much the same when Wolverine's trying to kill the Skull, about how the world was fortunate that Xavier's power was born into a man as morally righteous as Xavier rather than a d-bag like the Skull. (I may be paraphrasing a bit there.)

Thor's tough to mind-control, but it's happened before. Moondragon turned him into her love-slave at one point. Plus, this time he had both the Skull and Honest John working on him.

And now she's a lesbo. So what's that say about his Asgardian meat missile?

It's a testament to his lion-esque prowess that she didn't realize she's a lesbian sooner?

Take a look back at X-Men: Legacy #225 to see how easily Xavier can make people his *****es if he wanted to. He literally just waltzes into the Acolyte's headquarters thanks to all the mental mojo he did to them and they aren't able to lay a single finger on him.

Also, as for Thor, don't forget that one guy, the "Living Propagation" used his mojo on him as well as Skull.

Yeah, that was a good idea. I like that they're all people who've been legitimately wronged by mutants somehow. And apparently a for-real genie, if what Dangerous Jinn said about serving humanity for forever was true.

Any particular reason for that, other than just being one of the perks of being a god?

The fact that he's a god, plus the fact that he's got exceptional willpower and such. Basically, remember how Cap was able to mitigate the Skull's mind control from a murderous rage against mutants to just openly yelling at Havok? Thor's got that, plus he's a god.

Man....I agree totally! I feel cheated just buying this book!! The story is gripping...But the art is so "stiff" and "simple" looking.

What a waste of writing.

Just finished the first couple of issues of this series. Have to say I'm not that impressed with the artwork. The storyline itself left me a bit uncomfortable, I cannot really explain why that is. And yet another Red Skull?!?

Why are they treading the same old ground with this character? Just leave him dead and be done with it. Stop the "oh look another red skull was in hibernation from WWII and woke up" approach.

Well, the Red Skull who's been around for the majority of Marvel's comics died. I don't mind that Remender took the opportunity to reset the Skull to his original uber-Nazi concept. The Skull who died had gone through a lot of changes, to the point that he might not be easily recognizable to new readers if they're coming in from the movies. Sure, Remender could've just had the Skull return to his Nazi ideals, but that's essentially discarding years of characterization. Starting over with a whole new cloned Skull, freshly awoken from WWII, seems like the lesser of two evils for giving us an uber-Nazi Skull again.
