Default What the Hell has happened to Hellraiser?

The Boom! comic series has promised time and time again to be a return to the core of Hellraiser, boldly claiming to be superior to any of the sequels past Hellraiser II. But since Brandon Seifert has come aboard, writing the mini-series Hellraiser: The Road Below, it has come to light that the cenobites were the good guys all along. That they are cosmic cops who keep order in a chaotic world, punishing the wicked in Hell when they die.

With Clive Barker on board and being promoted as one of the main writers, you'd think there was no way it could go wrong. But these comics have become guilty of the very same things as Hellraiser: Inferno, making Pinhead and the cenobites moral judges who punish people for their sins. As it stands, Inferno is the only Hellraiser movie other than Revelations that Barker has said he HATES.

Brandon Seifert had said in several interviews that upon becoming the new Pinhead, Kirsty came to realize that she had been fighting on the wrong side all along, that the cenobites are actually a force for order and justice, something which was revealed in the fourth and last issue of the series.

Apparently these aren't all his ideas either. In a response to an AICN interview with Seifert, a talkbacker said that he doesn't understand Hellraiser at all, and Seifert himself replied in talkback, saying that it wasn't his idea to make the cenobites punishers of sinners or his interpretation of Hellraiser, but that it's what Clive Barker and the other writers had established themselves in the comics.

I am a huge Hellraiser fan, as you might guess by my screen name, so to me this feels like a betrayal for the creator of all people to change the very fundamentals of the mythology.

Cmon, someone humor me please? The one site that I have to discuss Hellraiser on is down right now. I realize it's not some hugely popular franchise but good lord, there must be some other fans here other than me.
