Default Geekiest thread of 2013? Let's recast Star Trek Next Generation

Let's pretend they have decided to do with Next Generation what they have done with the original series and replace all the original cast members for a big budget movie.

Who would you cast?

Of course, I'm not saying they should actually do this, it's just a bit of fun.

Commander William Riker - Jonny Lee Miller

Geordi La Forge - Anthony Mackie

Commander Worf - Who could do a better job than The Rock (plus he adds star appeal)

Doctor Beverly Crusher - Jessica Chastain

Deanna Troi - Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Data - Ken'ichi Matsuyama

Wesley - Tanner Cohen

Picard - This is the hardest to recast but I reckon Mark Strong is the only one who could do it justice

Mark Strong as Picard is the greatest thing I've ever seen.

Thanks! I was pretty worried about starting this thread without having the perfect Picard!

Mark Strong as Jean Luc Picard, and Tom Hiddleston as Data?

If this were actual casting for a TNG movie, I would buy a ticket in a heartbeat.

Weirdly enough, one would think James McAvoy for Picard.

Jason Isaacs would be a good Picard.

Ha! Seriously though, I don't think James would want his career to be following Patrick Stewart around picking up his leftovers.

I wonder if a mod could pop this thread in the Star Trek section?

If I suggested Jim Parsons for Data would I just get laughed out of here?

McEvoy needs to star in a remake of Conspiracy Theory, Dad Savage, The Canterville Ghost, Moby Dick, A Christmas Carol as well as in the role of Picard. He needs to redo all of Stewart's filmography.

In fact, he should change his name to James Patrick Stewart, although people might think it's more of a nod to Hollywood screen legend James Stewart than Picard.

James should start with remakes of Wild Geese II, Dune, Lifeforce and Masterminds.

I like your choice of Diane Kruger for Tasha. She has kind of a look of her, but just much hotter than Denise Crosby.

Jean Dujardin and Christina Hendricks look pretty good for Picard and Crusher too.
