Yeah, I really liked the Logan and Rogue theme from the original X-Men.

female teenagers would go crazy! lol

Id love juicy stuff like that on the franchise, appart from Logan and Jean on X3. Not on the same level as True Blood of course, but suggesting some fun between characters, specially a famous couple like Rogue and Gambit, and now that Anna is so popular with the series.... I'd just love to see her evolve and leave Bobby finally.

dont need a full relationship with Gambit, but just some nods here and there, to give us a tease

And probably Anna Paquin wouldn't be cast for the role because at that time, she still looked very young to knock someone down like Magneto.

I just watched the original trilogy yesterday and I thought their introduction for Rogue was good. And I liked his relationship with Wolverine. But the problem with Rogue is it isn't exactly the Rogue that we know from the comics/cartoons/videogames and thats why people hated the movie version of Rogue. Plus after X2, they weaken her character by taking the cure and not fighting with the X-Men at the end.

The only thing I have against ROMY is that it mimics too much of Edward & Bella from Twilight. It's not really necessary for this film.

At this point the cast is so huge that the focus should be on the mission rather than romance. Although I would like to see Mystique & Beast's relationship evolve.

People need to get over this idea that characters have to be exactly like their comic-book counterparts. Ragging on Paquin's Rogue because she wasn't 'comic-book Rogue' is ridiculous.

As she was utilized in the OXT, Rogue was our 'everyman' character in two of the three films, which was appropriate given that there wasn't anyone else in the first or third films who could fill that role (although Angel does sort of fill the role along with Rogue in TLS). The only reason she wasn't the 'everyman' in all 3 films is that Nightcrawler filled the role in X2.

I have no problems with changes to a character as long as they improve on the character. The changes to Rogue were not improvements.

IIRC the original script had Sabretooth steal Logan's dogtags exactly because Magneto's machine was powered by Adamantium and they wanted to test the machine. This was probably how they were able to come about the whole switcheroo of who the intended kidnapping victim for the Brotherhood was in the eventual film.

So as has been discussed Logan would be taken and used to power the machine at the very end. There would be a scene atop the Statue of Liberty (?) at the very end where Mystique touches (kisses???) Magneto and we see him weaken. "Mystique" then morphs into Rogue. Turns out "Mystique" was Rogue all along. That's also how she gains the white strip on her hair.

Now it's been 13 years so I would be forgiven if I'm misremembering any of the details! LOL

rogue was one of my fav. characters in the film ,making her this sexy smart mouthed southern chick who flies and beats the **** out of people would not of improved the film

making her the character that the audiences see's their world through was a very good and smart choice and made her very sympathetic and you connected with her

@Duran Man: Someone needed to be the 'everyman' for the OXT, and Rogue fit the bill better than any of the other characters. There was absolutely nothing wrong with using her in that role, and if having her fill that role made you want to fall asleep, that's no-one's fault but your own.

Anyway, I digress. I'm interested to see what they do with Paquin's Rogue in DoFP, and whether or not she'll have her powers back (and, if she does, how they'll explain things).

I'm actually not so sure about that. Yes, Paquin is in True Blood, but a TV career and movie career are two entirely different things and are not interchangeable. Paquin's movie career since the X-Men series is frankly nothing to write home about.

I don't get this notion that Ellen Page is this big time movie star now. Her big movie, Inception was 2 years ago (well 3 if we want to be technical about it). She's done nothing of note since then.

And her other high profile movie before that was also 3 years prior with Juno.
