That's just it. I dont think it looks very sci-fi. Sci-fi as in less artistic architecturally and more practical and techy looking. Less LOTR and more Star Trek. More tangible than the crystal-tech in S:TM.

But it still looks really great and I'm sure it'll look fantastic in the movie itself.

It's a throne/Council room. Glimpses from the trailer show more advanced stuff. I have confidence.

True. The ships look more like something from Star Wars.

The engravings on the walls exude an alien vibe which I like.

I agree it looked kitsch in Thor. I really like the film, but for me the Asgard visuals end up looking kitsch because its too gold, too immaculate, and too cg, it ends up looking cheap-rather then some beautiful, heavenly plane of existence, it looks a bit naff, which is what kitsch is.

Remains to be seen how Krypton is portrayed but I hope it all feels a bit more solid, like a real living breathing planet and not some CGI creation.

The interior shots in Asgard looked mostly fine, but with the exception of Heimdal's observatory, all the exterior shots of Asgard looked too over-the-top polished and cheesy. Jotunheim looked worse though.
I dont want that in MOS and I dont think we'll get that at all.

I didn't get that. SW ships had more clean lines and edges. The MOS ships look more like bugs to me. lol

Hmm, ok, I guess I was refering to the diversity in general design in SW, but I guess the ships arent that artistically done, like the different races and creatures.

Oh, all right. I just had to know what the word meant first. Yeah, I agree with you on that.

Obviously it'll be a little different, but so far it looks incredible

One of things I love most in Thor was the sweeping shots of the lanscape of Asgard... and you just know Snyder's going to kick ass with that
Hopefully they'll handle the actual sets and costumes better, though. I hated that stuff in Thor, too clean and shiny and ultimately fake-looking and cheesy to me. But Snyder's production design is always on-point, so I can't wait to see his Krypton. I mean, just looking at Jor-El's amazing costume, I already know I'll like Krypton's costuming a hell of a lot more.

Agreed, but I think a lot of that is because Marvel is trying to be the opposite of gritty realism, and is embracing elements of cheese and shinyness

Marvel does seem to be on the cheap side especially when Feige flat out said they don't need to pay for the best actors.

My favorite Marvel movie is still Iron Man 1 because it had some grit to it.

Nah... I think a lot of it had to do with the budget.

I don't think we'll be seeing any cheapness from them from now on, now that they have Disney financially backing them up. Phase 2's gonna be the test.
