I understand that is his motivation, and I like that about the story. But it doesn't work that way for everyone. being a victim of bullying or discrimination != never being a bully or never discriminating against others. Last edited by BullMcGiveny; 01-28-2013 at 09:44 AM. |

Yet you say that if Steve didn't bang someone during the war, it was because he was gay.

So Steve is an atypical kind of person, and maybe, as a result, he doesn't sleep with women just because they're throwing themselves at him. |

I think we're in agreement that Steve is a character who went against the grain even in his time. I was just checking against you saying that it was "unrealistic" to go against the grain.

Yes, racism was commonplace during the '40s, that doesn't mean every single individual person from the '40s was racist, like Bull's original post suggested.
Also casual sex was much less commonplace (at least openly). Steve "saving himself for marriage" wouldn't have been looked at as unusual at all. Sure, plenty of soldiers got lots of action, but Steve not sleeping around wouldn't have had people going "must be gay lolz".

Basically, I need her to be cast. Ever since they said she was on the shortlist for Sharon, my brain really won't let anyone else take the part. Although I would've been interested in Winstead in the role. But... Alison Brie in the Marvel Universe is way too much awesome for me (and my husband... for pretty much different reasons).
Brie for everything, pretty much!!

![]() she does look like Atwell and pulled off a British accent in Five-Year Engagment.. if they're going to make Sharon British which was a rumor hence a bevy of British actresses being linked.. perhaps a rap-battle with Anthony Mackie ala 8 Mile is in the cards hehe VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

I'd be willing to bet that CATWS actually addresses the question in an indirect, probably humorous manner. The issue of the "100 Year Old Virgin" is, of course, open to whatever offscreen fanfiction you care to dream up, of the G-rated or X-rated variety; but personally, I find it much easier to assume that Steve acted on at least one or two of the many opportunities he would've been presented with, as opposed to believing in some Harlequin Romance story that isn't even supported by CATFA. There's several years that pass between Steve's first encounter with Peggy and his next one; and there's no indication at all that he's moon-smitten enough by a co-worker to lock up his junk forever until he can put a ring on her finger.

I'm... confused.
Heart, so set on Brie. I think Van Camp's decent on season 1 on Revenge, but... inconsistent. Also... BRIE!! *sob*

I will say, though, she won't have to go through months and months of training. Emanda is a *very* physically challenging role.
Also, she looks the very picture of Sharon Carter. But still, I'll be weeping in my corner over no Alison Brie in the MCU. Yet. (maybe for Jan Van Dyne?)

Wait a minute? So far, there aren't any detractors? And I'm the only one that's (a little) disappointed. Dang.

Emily Van Camp in Winter Soldier?! Considering how religious my wife and I watch her show Revenge, I COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY DOWN WITH THIS.
She's fantastic. This is going to break her out big time....

Getting it out the way, Van Camp is hot as a mofo.
Regarding her ability, she can do this. Watch Revenge on ABC, like a full episode. That's all you need to do.

Unexpected choice, but makes sense. I've been a fan of hers since Everwood, and she can handle action on Revenge.
