I wouldn't mind having Hank and Jan first appear in the SHIELD TV show if it's ahead of the Ant-Man movie that Wright plans to have with Scott Lang. At least they could show up and look like they are established already.

And one person I'd love to see spouting Whedon dialogue is Autumn Reeser as Jan. She already seems suited to it, and could really shine as the Wasp.

We knew this was Clark Gregg's show all along, right? It's not like the announcement that he was headlining it could mean anything else (in spite of people theorizing that Coulson was a hologram, in flashbacks only, an LMD, etc.).

Agreed, I've thought this for a while. And her show (on ABC!) was just cancelled, so maybe this is fate, lol. I don't even need her to be Jan (though that would be perfect), just get her on this show with some Whedon-y dialogue to deliver and I'll be happy.

Autumn Reeser on SHIELD vs. keeping Last Resort? Totally worth it. That show killed itself, imo. I like Shawn Ryan, but that should have been a mini-series or something. I've seen every episode, but the "series finale" has been sitting on my DVR for days now, and I just haven't watched it for lack of caring.

I think this show could go on to be a hit I mean imagine what they could do with it, one episode agents are dealing with some suped up criminal then next a story arc setting up H.Y.D.R.A. or A.I.M., then sending a few agents on a retrieval mission to get some highly dangerous artifact then introducing a supe in their own 2-3 episode story arc

There's so much potential for this to be more than just your average episodic cop show

Sure, us fanboys will probably love it.
But will it stack up against juggernauts like The Walking Dead, HIMYM, NCIS, CSI, The Big Bang Theory and the like? I'm betting no. That's why I hope it opens against weak competition --- throwing it into a suicide slot (like, Sunday night opposite TWD, as has been rumored) means it'll be D.O.A., no matter *how* good it is or how much of a cult base develops overnight.

So this Reeser person has been on several recently cancelled shows? Sounds like another Summer Glau-like show jinxer to me. Hope she gets picked up by Hawaii Five-O instead.

I am very worried about ABC putting this up against TWD. I am super hyped for this show, but I have to admit that I would probably DVR SHIELD and watch TWD. It just seems like a bad move to put a much-anticipated show up against a mega-hit like that. I'd feel much better if they were to put it on Tuesday or Wednesday.

She's already been on Hawaii Five-0 before, but disappeared as a character when she had her own show.

But lots of people have had cancelled shows. Doesn't mean they are a jinx. Whether or not Autumn had been on No Ordinary Family, that show would've been cancelled anyway because it simply took too long to embrace the heroic team aspect and most of them were in denial of their powers for too long.

Huh...maybe not BBT but this has to better than every other show you listed there on ABC.

She was already a recurring character on that show and it survived, and she was also on Entourage and The OC, both of which lasted beyond the seasons in which she first appeared, so no show-killer here, lol. Anyway, she's a good actress with fantastic comic timing, as well as a force-of-nature type of screen presence, so she belongs on a good show with some great dialogue to deliver.

I don't like *any* of those shows I listed, except for Walking Dead. But tens of millions of other people do. So stacking a brand-new show against those juggernauts --- especially a show in a genre that continually fails on any TV network that isn't CW or animated --- is a recipe for disaster. They need to debut SHIELD against weak competition, and not in a death-sentence time slot.

Realistically? For ABC, in a slot that SHIELD could reasonably hold its own, if not rule:

Tues. 9 PM
Wed. 8 PM

That's pretty much it.

ABC could use some replacements for Sunday night, but against The Walking Dead on AMC and Fox's Animation Domination (Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, Family Guy, American Dad), not to mention NBC football in season, it's a losing battle. Also, with the unfortunate failure of The Last Resort, there's a slot opening for 8 PM Thursdays, but that's up against powerful sitcoms on CBS (Big Bang Theory, 2 1/2 Men) and NBC (30 Rock, Community, Parks & Rec).

So I'd green-flag Tues. 9 PM and Wed. 8 PM; yellow-flag Sun. 8-9 PM and Thurs. 8 PM; and any other slot would be instant death, or a spot already being squatted on by ABC's top ratings-getters.

Hopefully not too long after you guys but I have a sneaky suspicion its gonna end up on Sky.

Having said that TWD was screened on C5 so fingers crossed!!
