Daniel Day-Lewis would be highly improbable, but I would want an actor that can do what he did in There Will Be Blood. Someone who can come off as a charming salesman in one moment and be psychotic in another. That character was very Lex to me.

Michael C. Hall I'm trying to save for maybe Riddler to be honest. He's just been wasted in movie roles, like that godawful Gamer.

I like the idea of Guy Pearce. He's a tremendous actor.

Imagine a Superman-cast assembled from that time.

Nice. Welles wouldn't even need makeup or SFX touchups.

Seriously, that would've been a class-A ensemble and project. Dunno about Mason as Zod, but still.

Viggo would be great but I don't think he'd want to do it. Didn't he pass on the Zod role? Of course, maybe once he sees how good Man of Steel is (which it WILL be dammit!) he'll want to join the franchise.
But I'm still hoping for Pearce. His (highly underrated) performance in Lawless sold it for me. How he got completely ignored for that while Alan Arkin got a friggin' Oscar nom for playing the SAME character he's played in about his last 10 movies makes me want to put my fist through a wall.

I still want Guy Pearce as Lex, but Cumberbatch would probably do the role justice, honestly the first STITD trailer with his voice over I thought he'd be great as Zod, just the way he delivered the lines......damn
