i think what happened is that Raimi wanted to do the movie in 2010 because he thought that RDJ will be Oz. that way he would direct a disney 3D hit with a big movie star. the movie would make money and he could do a personal project. but then RDJ was out.

It's a shame they made her so skinny. She doesn't look as powerful as she did in that other picture.

I like the old school look they've given the Wicked Witch poster. It's my favourite along with Weisz's.

Also, the transition from black-and-white with minimal 3-D for Kansas to full color with full-on 3-D is worth the price of admission for 3-D alone.

Color me very, very impressed, and doubly interested. I'm most certainly going to see this in theaters now.

How do James Franco and Mila Kunis still get work? They're such terrible actors.

Yeah, I wouldn't call them terrible. Franco is a very interesting actor who takes alot of chances with his roles and Kunis is similar. She may not transform herself for each role but she is definitely an interesting enough person that people want to keep giving her work.

127 Hours was one of the better things I've seen film wise.

Ok, I've followed nothing in regards to this film because I...y'know, just don't give a **** about it. But I DID see the superbowl spot and now I think we have our John Carter of 2013. All I could think of regarding the spot was "Damn, that's a helluva lot of CGI".

This will be way better than John Carter for two reasons:

1) No terrible main lead ala Taylor Kirtsch
2) Andrew Stanton hadn't directed a big budget live action film...Raimi has.

Maybe you'll be right. Although I'd rate Kitsch & Franco about the same level from what I've seen of them.

I think you would be very surprised about how much CGI they didn't use:

Not to mention that the script itself (not the very early draft that's been disected by numerous websites) is pretty solid, from what I've heard.

If you're gonna make it all look like CGI then what's the difference or point?
