All those armor repaints are incredibly lame. The only good ones are actual model changes like MGS4 Raiden and Gray Fox. I'm surprised they didn't throw in the MGS2 Ninja.

Did anyone use the grenades and rocket launcher in the demo? I did on my first run, but didn't bother on my second and third tries. I just don't care for them.

Melee combat is just way more fun.

The game was just as bad as I thought it would be...watching the videos I knew the camera would suck and it did...and to be honest, the game is just boring...

I always unload the two rockets on a Gekko, and usually don't bother with grenades.

If you don't move it around the camera can be problematic, but the game is anything but boring.

Just played the Rising demo again for like...idk maybe the 10th time? I got 3 A ranks in a row. Felt pretty damn good about myself.

I just played the demo yesterday. I absolutely fell in love with the game. Has everything I would want in a hack and slash.Only complain I have is that the first time I played it it froze on me.That happen to anyone else?

Has Kojima actually come out and stated whether Rising was canon or not? Is it an actual sequel to the tale he put out in MGS4 or is this more of a what if scenario

Kojima doesn't have a lot to say about it because it isn't his place to do so. He doesn't really have anything to do with game. There are references is some articles to a tweet he made on his Japanese account saying that the game is set several years after MGS4, but none of those articles had the common sense to link to the original tweet. Not that I would be able to read it anyway.

If that isn't good enough for you though, less than a minute into this video a Konami representative says explicitly that Rising is in the same universe and timeline as the MGS games:
