Yes, he can. The events take place before Wolverine undergoes the adamantium bonding process and before Stryker puts the stupid mind erasing bullet in his head. If there's one thing I wouldn't mind Days of Future Past changing, it's X-Men Origins. Though, maybe the less said about that movie the better.

singer has said he is respectin all of the films so im guessin they aint changin origins, but there will be people complainin that he has bone claws if that happened.

and hopefully if it turns out somehow wolverine does appear and meet young prof x he doesnt steal the show again

70s Wolverine won't remember Kitty anyway, because when he does eventually join the X-Men, she looks different every time for each film.

i think i saw an article on AICN saying that instead of someone in the future travelling back to the past, it is vice-versa.

Rogue really needs to own her powers in this film. They squandered that potential in X-3, as we all know.

Brian Wood mentioned recently that he feels Rogue is best written as a "brawler", and I think he's right. Ms. Marvel powers or not, the thing about Rogue that most resonates with people is not just her "hurt" that was brought out in the first movie, but her potential to really fight like a mother****er. Paquin really owns both the southern belle thing and the sauciness in True Blood. I hope they really give Rogue the chance to live up to her brawler potential.

Well they'd better let her play the saucy southern belle Rogue for a start now, and not the same character she played in the first 3 X-Men movies. But what would explain such a shift in personality?

The DOFP future isn't likely to turn someone saucy. That kind of sassy and playful personality is more likely to develop in a more relaxed environment where things are laid back, like if she had gone back home to Mississippi and spent time shooting the breeze, playing pool and drinking beer. The DOFP future is more likely to turn someone cold and hard.

Another obstacle is how she would obtain any of Ms. Marvel's powers at all in the filmverse. In X3 we saw her lose her powers. Sure, they could say the cure wasn't permanent, but for all we know they won't want to explain how she kept her old powers, let alone give her new ones.

If the future is indeed over run by Sentinels, maybe the parents of known mutants are being put in camps as well or maybe even executed? They should follow up on Rogue's parents and it would give her purpose to toughen up, if they are killed in the process. I can see Rogue have returned back home after taking the cure.

What would suck is if Rogue is still cured and they do nothing with the cure plot and have it permanent.. she is just back as a human O.O

I can't believe X3 actually cured her. I mean, even if they ignored what that does to Rogue for sequels, didn't they realize that decision sort of contradicted her character arc?

Thinking in a logical way, if the cure is permanent, they wouldn't have resorted to introducing Sentinels right? They could have just enforced the cure on mutants to save them the trouble of manufacturing huge robots..

Maybe Rogue returned home, turned into the saucy southern belle (since she was able to be around men now) but when the Sentinels came and took her parents, in her rage/anguish, her powers mainifested themselves again. So all it took was the right condition to bring it to the surface again. Maybe she finds that it wasn't cured at all but simply submerged and dormant, because that's all the cure could really do.

Good point. I doubt they'll make the cure the permanent, but it's still something that will need some explaining.

Some people already suggested the cure might trigger their 2nd mutation. It wouldn't be hard to pull off if they go with that.

Hey you're right, Hank's cure further mutated him, his so called secondary mutation, so why not have the cure from The Last Stand have the same effect? This is a good way to explain movie Rogue's super strength, still not too sure about the flight. I won't be mad if she absorbed someone's flight power in DoFP temporarily, but the strength can be hers.

Yes plus X3 would be look better if they try to connect the happenings of that movie to DOFP and FC. And about Rogue's flying ability. She could just absorb Storm's power from time to time.

On the subject of the sauciness of saucy southern belle Rogue.. she could easily have turned more saucy simply because she grew up. :P Not a big leap there. So I'm really hoping to see more comic-Rogue in this movie.
