Wait a minute, looking at the HUD at 1:15, basically right after Tony asks how many are in the air, if you look closely at the right it says "MK 42 WEIGHT ANALYSIS." So this armor we've been seeing is Mark 42...? Thought it was mark 47? O_o (Sorry I'm horrible at roman numerals)

Bizarre? It was perfect. The beginning was Downey being Downey. Nothing better than that, unless you count the amazing trailer that followed.

But the trailer was going to be 60 seconds whether it had the RDJ intro or not.

nah, he didn't. I guess he changed it, and it will be sent around 9PST to his subscribers. Which is midnight here on the east coast

Well this second trailer definitely wasn't as good as the first.

I guess they didn't pay for the RDJ part, then. If so, not as much as they would have paid if it was actual movie footage.

I also love how the spot was shown at the superbowl,
my friends were like at first: ok a plane commercial first,
and then when the passengers were pulled out : ok a disaster movie,
when may 3rd showed : wat movie is coming out on May 3rd?

technically its not a trailer, it more like a short/extended tv spot....
i noticed that they are goin more into showing a sequence rather than flashes of awesome plot revealing scenes for the tv spots. Obviously the Theatrical trailer#2 late Feb or early March is gonna be full of new footage.....probably filled with spoilerish money shots...

Again, NOT a trailer. A TV spot. It was designed to show off the character during peak, ginormous viewing hours... It did exactly what it was designed for. Wait for an actual trailer 2 for the cinematic version.

That's because that was the first we'd seen of The Avengers. With IM3, you've already got two full *real* trailers already out as well as shorter TV spots; this was just a rehash of some snippets of those, along with quick glimpses of scenes they've been filming since those trailers were released. Wish they could've shown some of the China footage, though.
