I just realized that this will be the first time in a live action film where we've seen Clark and Ma Kent together in a scene while he's dressed in his superman costume.

And I think this is the second time ever in live action format that we've seen the character of "Superman" and "Ma Kent" in a scene together; with L&C being the first. (I don't think of the Superboy series as counting given the title of the character.lol)

On another note, such a simple scene this is, and yet very powerful and emotionally touching as well, especially if the context of this scene is what some have been theorizing on how this is the shot of Superman reuniting with his mother after a love absence of exile.

Because the cape is CGI, and a yellow S on the back would have been a problem for the sfx guys to do.

Yeah, but that's because the Superman project he was working on was fully CG. Not as easy to do when you're trying to make it look real, not to mention that he'll probably be flying and moving around a lot.
