As an spectator, sure it seem useless. But Bruce thought that he could really defeat this guy effortless. Aside the fact that he was leaded to a trap, he felt prepared, he had the gadgets, the skills, but Bane proved to be more than a match for him. How could he have known that Bane couldn't feel the punches Bruce was throwing?

Sorry, not sold on that. It was stupid and useless.

People have called them smoke bombs, but they're not even close to smoke bombs. A smoke bomb implies a large cloud that obscures the view of the surrounding area or causes breathing impairment. This did neither. It just made cute little puffs.
Just to re-quote what I said on another thread just now, which was actually to you as well, lol

But when it comes to the flashbangs/stun pellets, I always thought that was a way to just distract Bane as much as turning the lights off. Batman needed to rest and get his mind right on attacking, but neither worked as neither effected Bane. Batman was trying to get Bane away for as long as he could, because as we can see, when Bane found Batman while the lights were off, Batman was standing up; I saw that as Batman trying to get it "all together", but his plan was cut off. Batman never had the upper hand and never got focused or his mind right.

Was it supposed to be like he got shot by the gun the other guy was holding because Batman kicked his hand away?

He does fly back just as the gun is facing him.

I don't remember if there was a gunshot sound.

His little double take is funny though.

Your suggestion is heavily speculative. There's little to draw that conclusion from.

But I won't deny it's a possibility. An extremely vague one, but a possibility nonetheless.

I just watched; it's hard to see because there's no REAL muzzle flash, but when Batman punches the guy's arm away with the pistol, you hear the shot that accidentally shoots the guy who looks like he's slipping on the ice.

Still funny as hell though.

Guys guys, it's simple really...

The Spectre obviously helped him out on that mercenary.

Next time I watch TDKR, I will definitely pay attention to that scene to see if I heard a gunshot.

There's someone that is flown back with the mercenaries vs Batman/Catwoman as well that could've been implied in that way as well, but there is no gunshot heard.

I don't quite see it being "heavily" speculative simply because there wouldn't be anything else to actually imply such unless Nolan mentions it because it wouldn't be mentioned any other way.

It made about the same flash as the one Ra's showed Bruce during the training sequence in Batman Begins, and if they're not the same then why did Bane quote that exact line Ra's used when Ra's spoke of the flash bangs as distractions?

They are the same as the tool from Begins, but that powder wasn't a 'gas bomb' or a 'smoke bomb'. It was flash powder.

So Batman put it into pellets, which is fine (and I find it a pleasant throwback), don't get me wrong. It could confuse or scare the pants off of somebody... provided it wasn't somebody that just owned you in a fight and didn't just WATCH you pull it out of your pocket.

Bane had no reason to be confused or intimidated by such a petty, desperate trick. He had him on the ropes, and was watching everything. No element of intimidation or surprise could POSSIBLY be conjured from that.

The only sensible/non-amateur reasoning for him doing it that remains is to -guess- that he was trying to buy a few seconds to regroup, as Anno says.

To me, that's kind of reaching, but the possibility does help me feel less embarrassed about the moment.

There's no gunshot sound.

But i never noticed that if it existed , the blunder would actually make sense.

It wouldn't be the first time he redirected a thug's gunfire to take down another one in Nolan's films.

Someone else said there was a gunshot sound, but if there isn't, maybe there was supposed to be and they forgot to add it?

I dont hear one There's other one right after it (when he's disarming a thug i think).

But after you said that , yeah i think that would have been perfectly logical. They just needed to add the sound.

That's two scenes where a guy falls back and nothing happens to them, but it could've been that a gunshot sound just isn't placed in the scene when it should have, much like the scene during the mercenaries vs Batman/Catwoman where a guy falls back and moviemistakes.com makes mentioned that a gunshot was meant to be heard.

Well yeah , but that one happens in a small portion of the frame , very distant from the lenses. A lot of stuff could happened there (although is probably also a blunder lol) . This one is much more prominent (especially after seeing that gif over and over).

Normally the stunts guys have some one who supervises their coordination.

I'm praying Nolan will break his old conviction and give us a Director's Cut of Rises.

Fix little things like that, put Bane's origin footage that was cut back in, little explanatory bits that seem to be missing from other scenes that were in the script, etc.

GTFO with this. You are giving us all false hopes!

But yeah, if Nolan really did cut out a chunk of the film to meet the IMAX length; I really wish he would have given us the complete package on Blu-Ray.

Well, with the deluxe edition of the trilogy coming later this year, there's always the slight chance they're saving it for that. I mean, if there was any intention to release an extended cut, it would make sense to use it as a deal sweetener for this double dip. Plus, it would take a bit of time to finesse and complete, particularly with the score and music editing.

I highly doubt it though. Don't want to add to the false hope lol

Too late, haha. JK.

This is the first film I have seen that I really feel would benefit from a director's cut. But I think Nolan is beyond satisfied with how the film turned out, for better or worse.

Makes me wonder just what the hell they're going to include in that trilogy set that makes it so damn special. My best hope is commentaries and those minor cut scenes that do exist like Batman running between atop cop cars in TDK and Bane doing the League training in his prototype mask.

They must include something really really good to justify this ultimate edition. A commentary for all three films would be really awesome.

Ehh, it's not something I would really pray for as I do with Spider-Man 3 constantly as I never had real issues with TDKR. Maybe certain scenes could've been extended, but I can't really think of issues that TDKR needed help on tbh.

If given a choice between commentary tracks for the 3 films and an extended cut of Rises, I'd easily go with the commentary tracks.

But I definitely agree...there has to be something meaty in there to make the deluxe edition a must-have for the hardcore fans.
