The lower curve of the design has an extra angle. It isn't a solid match.

I have to ask... are you just trying to start an arguement? Because it seems that way? Its clearly obvious it's a Medieval Z. Sups "S" in this film is not a clear match either with what we have seen in the past. The idea is to make the symbolization relevant to modern times, but to keep them as true as possible to the historical factor of the symbols they are basing these symbols off of. If you are indeed being serious, I personally feel you are looking way to deep into it.

Who's having an argument? We are discussing the correlation of one shape to another. I have just pointed out a difference. If that upsets you, then you are too sensitive.

Well, to add to that, the 1st 2 images that came to mind when I saw Zod's symbol were the Omega (even psoted that here) and the sickle. I get why people would think "u" before "omega", but being Greek I couldn't help it. But each of those 3 interpretations so far has logic behind it, so I can't discard any one of them.

C'mon Warner Bros.; give us something freaking new and exciting in the pictures department for us to talk about so that we don't have to keep using Zod's Symbol as a basis for more arguments.lol

Upset? No... You are simply over-analyzing what you are seeing. It's not that difficult my friend. Take what you see as what it is, stop over-thinking. Thats all.

Only you would think they would start and end with the same shape. It's okay, I don't need to convince everyone. Some people just don't have sound reasoning.

In a different orientation, one letter can become another letter (or it can become meaningless).
An upside down "omega" is no longer an omega.

I have a different idea concerning Zod's symbol. Ratherthan it being a specific letter of something like that, what if it's a stylistic design used by the Zod "clan" of Krypton? In terms of the pentagon itself, I could imagine it being similar in function to an Egyptian cartouche. Since shapes are limited, it makes sense that the noble houses would have used simple designs to identify their houses, with or without any direct meaning or interpretation.

I guess they didn't have the letter "J" in medieval times?

It's obvious. Its a chalk outline of a decapitated head up-side-down. He saying, "Look at my chest! I'm a bad guy and I'll hurt you to death till your not alive from it and the cops outline your body like my chest!!" (Give or take) Yep, well, I guess that should explain it. Everyone's welcome.
