So if you had to choose between Nintendo making Mega Man or no Mega Man at all...you'd choose no Mega Man?
Sounds a LOT like the Bayonetta 2 rage.

Either way, you're right that at the moment that means no title. Though personally I'd rather hope Cap realizes their mistake than sell him off. When Capcom does get around to doing a MM title, they typically do it right. Being bought by Nintendo, or Sony, and MS for that matter might take the franchise down the wrong route. Like being relegated to Sonic & Mario Olympics, Avatar clothing lines, or purely 3D titles (as in no more 2D platformers).

Currently Mega Man is zero platform... You won't cut off 2/3 of the audience because now there is NO audience.
I've been hoping for Nintendo to somehow get the rights to the character...Either so they can give him a proper console HD game or give us MML3DS. |

This is a little old, and not Megaman per se, but I went ahead and got LBP 2 from the PSN store yesterday (finally, saw it was only $20). Thought I'd look up some levels before I tried it after work later on. Aside from some impressive looking RPG's, and shooters, I found a few Megaman inspired levels, and boss fights . Ppl's creativity with this series continues to impress me.

One thing that impressed me is that you can do health pick ups, and charge your weapon up, as well as switch weapon types. Wonder if you can make bosses have weaknesses to certain types of weapons? Guess this can tide over the lack of a Megaman game for me for awhile.

This needs to be moved to the Multiplatform forum already. Its easy to miss over here
I really want to see a sequel to MMX6. Yes I said 6. 7 and 8 took things in a different direction, but I want them to go back to the classic style from the SNES/PS1 games. Much like MM9 was a follow up to the NES games, I want the next MMX to go back to the roots of the series in terms of visual style and gameplay Another idea is for them to do an HD remake of MMX1-3. It doesnt necesarily have to be a full on remake of all the games, but something like Sonic Generations where they take different levels and bosses from the past games and combine them into one. Im sure they can stick a time travel story in there to make it work. Doing one for MMX4-6 could be the sequel if that were to work out well |

Kinda like Mortal Kombat? I think I'd like that.
What I want for the moment is X9. I hate when a story is left unfinished and I want them to end this.

Honestly, I gave up after X5. I loved 1-4, but the series lost steam for me after that (though I did buy, and enjoy XZ for DS). I still love the retro releases like 9-10, the later regular style like with 8, and the X series. However, IMO, the X series has become too convoluted. I'd rather they restart the series in a Bionic Commando style, and then take the story down a different path after 5. All of the elf, Megaman X dying, switched bodies crap lost me.
Heck I'd even be fine with an open world Legends style game, with X's story, and modern cell shaded graphics.

I think they were planning on doing that. They remade X1 for the PSP as Mega Man Maverick Hunter X and were planning to remake the rest, eventually even changing parts of the story if I remember correctly. Sadly the game didn't sell well and any future plans were curb stomped.

I never played the MM games for the story. It was all about the gameplay for me. I dont even remember what the story was in most of them

It was pretty much the same game, just with 3D models and Anime cutscenes. And Vile was playable. He was so awesome.

For the original MM games I'm with you, the story was not important. Though Bass's inclusion did make me finally start to care about the story a bit. The X series was different to me though, I actually did care for the story with it. Gameplay, and style wise I'm glad at the time that they kept both series running at the same time. It's sucks to imagine there never being another MM or X with one replacing the other.

I always liked the whole deal with Reploids and Maverick Hunters in the X series, which was supposed to end in the 5th game, but Capcom pushed for more and ruined its great ending.
Megaman X4 is my favorite, so I'd like them to use the same engine and graphics that they used for that game, back in the PS1. I'm not a fan of how they did it in X8. I think it lost something with the updated graphics.

So...so far Capcom has celebrated Mega Man's anniversary with...
Lame avatars A FAN-MADE PC-only Street Fighter Mega Man game (which is insulting...that's like DC doing a Superman Family-specific event and still shoving Batman into a big, central role, taking up 50% of the story...and releasing it only as a digital comic) Some lame soundtrack CDs Oh, yeah. Great time to be a Mega Man fan
