NCIS was funny this week, Fornell was on top form.

I thought the heist was pretty cool in LA and the plot went in a different direction than I was expecting, pretty interesting stuff and I wonder what Granger has Deeks really doing.

Promos for the Christmas eps!

I thought the 2 parter focusing on Ziva was really good and I liked that it left the story open to continue later in the season.

So, has anyone heard any more about the NCIS:LA spinoff coming next season?

All I've heard is there will be a backdoor pilot later this season, similar to how NCIS: LA started.

That's all I've heard too.

I'm trying to remember if they saved the LA backdoor episodes for sweeps. If so, we might have to wait until then again.

The NCIS: LA backdoor pilots aired April 28th and May 5th, so I'd say they did.

This show is awesome. NCIS is just great. LA is solid. I've gone back to watching from the beginning.

Looking forward to seeing Ziva get her revenge.

Solid eps from both this week, although I found the Abby stuff to be rather pointless, but I thought the kid they cast as young Abby did a great job with her mannerisms.

Deeks and his fish!

Next weeks LA looks really cool.

Edwin Hodge Cast In ‘NCIS: LA’ Spinoff
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

EXCLUSIVE: Edwin Hodge (Red Dawn) has become the first series regular cast in in CBS’ NCIS: LA spinoff project. The project, from NCIS: LA executive producer/showrunner Shane Brennan, is a back-door pilot will air as an episode of NCIS: LA later this season titled Red. It follows a mobile team of agents who are forced to live and work together as they crisscross the country solving crimes. Hodge, repped by Pakula/King & Assoc. and The Priluck Co., will play Kai Ashe, the incredibly bright, witty and likable technical assistant, an all-round tech savvy computer guy and expert on everything. Hodge’s casting in the NCIS: LA spinoff comes on the heels of him guest starring in an episode of the mothership NCIS series this past fall. He was a regular on the WB’s Jack & Bobby and has recurred on Cougar Town as Busy Phillips’ love interest.
I never watched the show, but didn't his brother (Aldis Hodge) basically play the same character on Leverage?

I have no idea who he is, his character has an unusual name though. I hope Scott Speedman gets the main lead.

I thought the name sounded kind of familiar and they have a similar look but wasn't sure it they were related.

I really liked Speedman in Last Resort. Wouldn't mind seeing him back on tv.

John Corbett To Star In ‘NCIS: LA’ Spinoff
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

John Corbett is set as the male lead in the NCIS:Los Angeles planted spinoff, which will originate as an episode of NCIS: LA airing later this season titled Red. The project, from NCIS: LA executive producer/showrunner Shane Brennan, follows a mobile team of agents who are forced to live and work together as they crisscross the country solving crimes. Corbett will play Analyst Roy Quaid, a former NCIS Special Agent forced to retire from active service. While no longer an active agent, Roy is the most experienced investigator working for Red Team, a fact that’s not lost on any of the other agents. Corbett now joins Mark Harmon, LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell as the next leading man of the NCIS franchise. On the NCIS: LA spinoff, he joins recently cast Edwin Hodge as well as NCIS: LA‘s Miguel Ferrer, who will also cross over to the new series.

CBS has been high on the Northern Exposure and Sex And The City alum, also casting him as the lead of a drama pilot, Widow Detective, last season. Corbett, who has recurred on NBC’s Parenthood, signed with Gersh late last year and is managed by Steve Lovett.

Both shows were great this week, it was fun seeing Lester from Chuck as the bad guy and Ziva looked smokin' in the opening scene.

I thought the concept for LA was really cool and the end, hinting at Nell being similar to a young Hetty, was interesting.

I dunno... I thought the case didn't make much logical sense:

How stupid was the private contractors to sell the details of the op to the cartel? As the only outsiders involved in the op, they'd naturally be the first suspected and placed under scrutiny; and even if cleared are likely not to get future jobs from the military due to the security risk. Moreover, wouldn't the contractors' reputation depend on the success of the mission? If the mission failed, clearly the contractors didn't train the soldiers well enough. Again, bad for future business.

So, from a long term perspective (which appears to be the motivation since the owner then sunk the money into a new training facility), sabotaging the mission they were hired to train for is bad for the company's reputation and future business.

As for the Nell/Hetty comparison, the show has made a number of hints towards this for awhile. I remember, back when Hetty took some time off following the end of the Comescue case, she left Nell running the day-to-day operations; with Callen even wondering if Hetty was grooming Nell for something. Which always struck me as a little odd. Unlike Hetty, Hunter and Callen, Nell appears to have a huge family and doesn't seem the type to dedicate the rest of her life solely and wholly to spycraft. Still, Nell was badass in this ep.

There is a point where "superstitious ********" becomes "statistically significant".

No. It's always going to be superstitious bull**** and no one will ever convince me otherwise.

The way things are now, it's amazing that any show makes it past their first season. There are so many factors that go into what stays and what goes, it's ridiculous to just look at a certain actor and say "showkiller".

Oh yeah it was overly simplistic but I did like the concept and execution of elite teams training as teams by specialists and how that dynamic of them as a foursome rather than 2 duos paid off at the end.

I love Nell. and yeah it has been on the fringes that Hetty saw more in Nell than just her computer skills, but this was the most direct "Nell can be Hetty of the new Millennium" thing they have done, at any rate I'm cool with any expansion of Nell's role.

Wasn't Alex O'Loughlin in a few duds before he made it?
