Pretty good. Its funny, gory and has awesome art. Its dragging the current Dead President arc out a bit too much but overall some of the best solo Deapdool stuff for a long time.

Posehn (sp?) is doing a great job writing it.
I'ld still love to see someone like Eric Powell do the art though

Ok gang, I took a 4 year hiatus from comics, prices were going too high and all I saw were mega-events. I recently decided to dip my toe back in, and I find my beloved Aquaman is now popular? All of DC is rebooted? Where is real Nick Fury? It's just Sam Jackson everywhere...
So I decided to just try some of the stuff I never read before. I picked up a copy of Miller's Daredevil Man without Fear and really liked it. I really liked the character, his Catholic faith is interesting to me as a man of faith, his street level fights, etc. Here is the kicker. I don't like Brubaker. (I think that is the guy, he did Captain America and Daredevil and was very realistic down to earth. ) I realize I'm the only person on planet earth who doesn't like his work but I just don't. Is there any other line of Daredevil I should try? '80's 90's 00's? A specific run or trade I should pick up? Thank you guys!

See, that is good to know.
I still don't like him, but at least now I know a little bit more about him. The cigar chomping, one eyed World War II warrior was a personal favorite of mine. Ever since Steranko. Finding Fury stuff involving excellent art and great writing has also been a bit of a bother for me. And now looks like it will never happen.

Brian Michael Bendis' run on Daredevil is pretty great. Even people who don't like Bendis will usually admit it was good. Mark Waid is currently the writer on Daredevil and it's been phenomenal so far. One of the best books Marvel is doing, I highly reccomend it. I'm pretty sure a couple trades for it have come out, and it wouldn't be too hard to catch up on individual issues as well.

I know I'm late to the party, but I just have to say that I'm only 5 issues into Fraction's Hawkeye and am completely and utterly in love. If there are any Marvel readers who haven't checked it out yet, I highly recommend doing so ASAP. I'm mostly a DC fan, but this and Waid's Daredevil beat any of the ongoing New 52 titles that I'm familiar with at the moment.

I agree! The first batch of issues has been compiled in a graphic novel and I keep checking Amazon to see where my copy is...
Currently, it's somewhere betweeh here and Dallas but I love the duo of Hawkeye and Hawkeye! Plus, Lucky the pizza dog! |

Kevin Smith, Bendis then Brubaker......man, DD was in really great hands for 10 freaking years straight. That's kinda unheard of. For a book to have such a high level of quality for that long, it's quite an accomplishment. Even Diggle's early issues were real good until Shadowland derailed everything. Waid has put things back on track.

Just at length, Daredevil as a character has been blessed with the best of writers throughout. Look at the names who have written for him from Frank Miller, Gerber... His title's been stacked.

I've been really liking the new Captain Marvel run, and Brian Wood's upcoming run on X-Men has been getting me really excited, so may I ask if there are any other good Marvel titles with female protagonists?

Marvel doesn't really have many strong solo women. It angers me.

Me too. But I really am loving Captain Marvel right now. Kinda makes me desperate to see her get introduced into the MCU ASAP.

Journey into the Mystery focuses on Lady Sif and Red She Hulk has her own title, though neither were renumbered with Marvel Now. I don't read either so I don't know how good they are. Fearless Defenders has a badass team of women. Valkyrie, Misty Knight, and Dani Moonstar.

^Plus the new X-Men series that starts an all woman cast. It is written by Wood so I am excited about that.
Rogue was the star of X-Men: Legacy for a few years and now plays a major role along with Scarlet Witch in Uncanny Avegngers also. |
