Doesn't everyone have DVRs now? I don't understand why people wouldn't just record both shows anyways? And besides Walking Dead is shown like 3 times on sunday nights. I don't watch any tv shows live anymore. I hate commercials. One of the few commercials I saw a few weeks ago told me to set my DVR to record the show they were advertising!

I save em up until I have 4 or 5 eps I can watch in a row. I hate the 'one episode then wait a week' crap. I'd rather forget about it for a month, then binge. Lost did that to me.

Yes. That's why Nielsen ratings are dinosaur-ic-ish, but the geezers in charge of the networks still worship them. Shows still live or die by the coveted nightly Nielsens.

I don't mind the one episode a week structure of TV. Now, comics? That's another story. 3 bucks for thirty mildly eventful pages and then wait another month for the same thing to see what happens next? No no...

When I said "better" I meant "do" better in terms of ratings. HIMYM averages around 8 million viewer, CSI 10, and TWD 10. The only juggernaught there is BBT with around 18-20 million. I've always imagined SHIELD bringing in upwards of 11 million on a national channel like ABC especially if it's not up against TWD on Sundays.

Maybe it had something to do with all the SFX the show needs to use? I think this might be the best looking show since Heroes.

I bet theaters will have one of those "First Look" features playing before the trailers for this show when IM3 comes out.

This starting shooting at the beginning of January, correct? So 3-4 weeks for shooting the pilot, is that pretty standard per episode of TV?

They will only do that if the series gets picked up. Which it will.

I expect there will be some post production special effects on this pilot, unless it's really light on those. I don't know how long it took for a standard episode of Star Trek to be produced on a weekly basis. Did they shoot quite some time ahead to do all the post production, or did they manage to actually fit all of that in within a week?

It will be interesting to see what a Whedon show looks like with an actual budget, haha. I'm so used to production values being the weak spot in his shows, but then, they've always struggled with budgets, so that's been why. I wonder what kind of budget he's getting for this thing. Wonder who his DP is, too.
