totally agree. I have not seen all the other nominated films in the effects category but ILM was at the top of their game in this film. To me usually ILM is the best and their worked really shined from the Hulk, portal effects and so many other areas. Truly excellent work that deserves the Oscar but will most likely end up not getting it.

The Avengers Cast To Present At The Oscars

Downey has twice been nominated for an Oscar, for his leading role in Chaplin (1992) and for his supporting role in Tropic Thunder (2008).

Evans, who will be making his first Oscar show appearance, will be seen in the upcoming The Iceman.

Jackson was nominated in 1994 for his supporting role in Pulp Fiction. He can also be seen in this year’s Best Picture nominee Django Unchained.

Renner was nominated for his leading role in 2009 Best Picture winner The Hurt Locker and for his supporting role in The Town (2010). Renner had roles in this year’s The Bourne Legacy and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011).

Ruffalo received his first nomination for his supporting role in 2010 Best Picture nominee The Kids Are All Right.

I've never heard of five actors presenting together before. This is a nice honor for the cast of the year's biggest blockbuster. It will be wonderful to see the five of them onstage together, looking dapper in their tuxes and such. Scarlett is appearing on Broadway in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which explains her absence, and I believe Chris Hemsworth is still shooting Thor. It would have been nice to have them there, though.

Oh, haha, not that. That was April 2012, and yes, I watched it all, and yeah, it was a fabulous weekend.

But above, I was just referring to the current ad they've been running in between their movies hyping their premiere of the Avengers next month. It uses only shots from the end credits sequence (ya know, with all the character iconography), with Fury's voiceover about "bringing together a group of remarkable people" playing over it and ending simply with a title card featuring the famous "A." It's a great spot. Too bad I haven't seen it online yet.

I think they are quickly becoming my favorite movie channel. HBO and Showtime can just stick to their original shows, lol.

.... In my child hood (90s) the Disney Channel wasn't even on cable... You had to buy it as an extra package like hbo ..... I remember getting it for a bday present one year
