I am shocked SHOCKED that there is not a thread in here dedicated to Loki specific banter!!! Well, I guess I have to take it upon myself to start one.

Anyways, my gut instinct is thinking that this is going to be the movie where Loki irrevocably crosses the line into the dark side and falls from grace for all eternity.

As a character Loki is more interesting and will last longer if he pulls back from the abyss of eternal damnation slightly, still not to be trusted in any way, but not completely lost either. That's what I'm hoping for. If this will happen remains to be seen, though a hint would be nice. You hear that, TPTB?

The thing with Loki is that he's so dern dangerous you just can't ostracize him outright. I think that if I were Odin and Thor I'd want him to be in my line of sight often.

I don't know...it's almost like the two are synonymous. I've even seen online a sect of fans that have been shipping both Tom and Loki as a pair. It's a very bizarre fetish.

True. Problem is how you keep him in line. There has to be some kind of chain to yank in should he start to stray. And I'm not talking about his son's intestines here.

There's not enough brain bleach in this world for this. I'm usually fine with slash (being a Trekker after all) but for some reason this does not float my boat.

Hmmm...I think if I were Odin I'd guess that since Loki likes Frigga so much that he's looking for female companionship, hence why I'd set him up with a girl like Sigyn whom Loki seems to be paying a lot of attention to.

I know really...fans can have such strange fetishes for sure! I don't think that Tom would want to delve too deeply in certain fangirl practices so just let an assistant weed through all that strangeness.

It would be difficult to play out on screen though because it could send all sorts of twisted messages to young women, like you can reform bad men.

The way I would write it is that you can't reform a damaged man though. In the comics it is inferred that Sigyn has perished which is not quite sending a positive message to girls about getting involved with the wrong man. The Twilight books and movies give a worse message to girls about how it's not harmful to get involved with dangerous men like Edward Cullen.

It's funny that you would ask me that! I am currently developing a story with Sigyn in it. I'm just trying to work out how I want to develop that relationship between the two. I view it more like she's a childhood friend and he sees her for a bit until a traumatic experience and he, considering she's all he has left as a means of genuine love, decides to go past friendship to something more serious.

I do have an old old old page on FF.net that I haven't used in over a decade. I have a Generation 1 Transformers fanfiction that is 100% complete somewhere on Geocities (*edit* Checked for the Geocities page and it's not there, perhaps because I haven't visited it in years but I still have the story on disc so it's not lost.), but I am currently editing that (Because I'm a perfectionist.) I am converting to .pdf for easier read since it is pretty huge.

Already happened at the end of JIM/Everything Burns. Although I have a feeling that this Kid Loki, the one who stands up to Spirit Loki, may re-emerge at some point, in some way shape or form, but it may be a very very long way down the road.

it is kind of interesting, the doesn't know what to do with familial forgiveness part, as far as Thor 2 goes, since I think he likely would have written this at the start of filming.
