Let's see i was 12 years old when i saw that in theaters, and I remember being bored out of my mind. It wasn't until a few years later, that i appreciated the connection Singer made to the Reeve films. I don't think Returns is a bad film, it was just too boring and dull for this generation of audience's. It's pretty decent as an overall film , but as a superhero film it just downright failed.

I think you're reading way too much into it.

It's just part of the chain mail design that's supposed to look like individual overlapping circular links. The "crosses" you're seeing are just the part of the design that represents the parts of each "link" that are "behind" the more complete circular links.

I actually like some of the Christ-imagery in the Superman movies, as they are classic culturally-engrained themes. But I've noticed that folks on these boards who are annoyed by Christ themes see them more often in the films than I do...! Singer must have really hit a nerve with Returns.

Anybody hoping for MOS to avert any Christlike imagery must've had them swiftly and disappointingly dashed by the very first shot of the second trailer.

what accent do you think kryptonians will have? if they're going for realism, zod, faora and jor el should have the same and it shouldn't be american. in the comic con and teaser russell retains his aussie accent, except for a few words which sound american. obviously we havent heard dialogue from zod. its not that big of a deal but i wonder what they decided

A pose with arms outstretched doesn't necessarily mean Christ imagery. That's how people float in water. The pose and imagery aren't mutually exclusive; it largely depends on context.

The Toy Fair lasts several days. Not all companies keep stands up for all those days. We should get new pics soon... by the 12th at the latest I think. But I really suspect we'll get new ones tomorrow.

I didn't necessarily get a Christ vibe from that shot, but I read that Snyder is a Christian scientist, or he grew up as one, so there's a chance he may be wanting to adhere to that. He does seem prone to include heavy themes in his films.
