And you must have a *lot* more fingers than most of us do, by the way. War Machine absolutely dominated Marvel titles in the early 90s, including West Coast Avengers, Force Works, Iron Man, and especially his own title. I'd say his popularity in comics started waning in the late 90s and early 00s, but the movies have boosted interest in him again in film *and* the books.

I have no idea where it originated. I just remembered seeing it before so I did a Google Images search and found it easy enough.
He was also wearing a practical Mark VI in this scene even though on screen it was the Mark VII: ![]() I'm guessing they just never built a practical version of the Mark VII since it would only really be needed for those two scenes. And having a practical version of the suit on set probably helps the animators with lighting and stuff even if it's the wrong suit. |

I wonder if it'll be mentioned if the Mandarin took into account of planning of when it would be the best time to attack Stark in a way where he wouldn't have to deal with the rest of the Avengers coming back to hunt him (Mandarin) down since I'm pretty sure that even someone like Mandarin wouldn't want to contend with the likes of Thor and the Hulk.

using the older suit on set while CGIing the new suit over the top also has the advantage of keeping the new suit design under wraps until the movie is brought out...

Well someone pointed out that if Stark is really going under the radar in order to go up against Mandarin, then it'd be difficult for the likes of Banner and SHIELD to track him down and help him; and it's more likely possible that Captain America and co. will be busy with their own missions around the same time and Thor is more likely occupied with the Asgardian war taking place in the other realms as well.

Speaking of which, do you guys think that it would be a nice nod if we had Stark in a scene where he's looking at one of his large holographic computer screens that shows a huge map and indication marks of all of the known Avengers, to give like a visual indication to the GA that everyone else is very busy during the events of his film. Pictures of Steve, Natasha, and Hawkeye should be shown present on one end of the globe, saying that their statuses are that they're off mission somewhere else, while Banner's pic could say that his status is unknown due to his low key profile, and that Thor is just marked as unreachable.lol |

Not really. The question never (or at least very seldom) comes up in the comic books. the reader there just acknowledges the fact that he reads IM comics, not Avengers comics so the other Avengers don't show up. I don't see why the MCU should handle this differently. But this has been talked about before.
