I decided I will definitely start Batman after the conclusion to the Death of the Family arc. I'm more of a Supes fan but the acclaim Batman and Snyder has gotten has made very eager to try it out. Aquaman is of interest to me as I've always disliked the character but he seems great in the new 52, from what others have reviewed/said. Justice League Dark seems cool but it depends on my money. I like to limit to 20 dollars a week on comics (I do occasionally go over). This week and the week after the next are slow for me and perfect catch up/jumping on weeks. Marvel's gonna kill me next week...

I'm also a tad bit partial to DC's Dark line: Justice League Dark, Animal Man, and Swamp Thing in particular. |

I just got caught up on Batwoman (I was 3 issues behind, 4 including the issue that came out today). I dropped it for financial reasons, and partially because I grew bored with the story. Williams took a 10-12 issue story (maybe even less issues than that) and stretched it out to 17 issues. That's harsh, and as a newer writer he needed some editers to reel him in a bit, but with that said, the two issue conclusion was fantastic!
I loved how everyone in the series returned in one form or another and all the things that had been building came to a head. I didn't like Medusa's defeat, as it was the most predictable defeat possible, but the story was overall great. And man... what a fantastic ending! I'm glad that this long-running plot is over. Now hopefully we can move on to new things and I can get back to enjoying a title that was one of my favorites of the relaunch. Also... Throne of Atlantis.... my favorite DC story since the relaunch. Just so you know.

I'm torn. It sounds interesting, but for me, a big part of the appeal for Superman/Batman is that you got them both in their "prime," being the best in the world. I am afraid you won't get that epic feeling with the two of them both just starting out.

My friend told me to read two new Batman comics called "Court of Owls" and "Death of the Family". Are these single issues? I never really read comics, but I figure I should take a look at these, he had very good things to say.

No, they're both multi issue arcs and cover the entire New 52 Batman run so far. 17 issues all together. Court of Owls cover issues 1-12 and Death of the Family is 13-17.
As for the new Batman/Superman, I'm very much interested. I didn't read Loeb's Superman/Batman run but I've always been a fan of World's Finest and have been waiting for their team up book. It will be a nice addition along with the new Snyder Man of Steel book coming out that month. Anyway, now to wait for Red Robin and the Brave and the Bold to be announced. Yep. I'll check out the first issue due to them. Maybe they can make Bats & Supes interesting to me again.

Once again my only issue with this new Superman/Batman book is how are they suppose to be telling the first meeting between the two when we have already seen that. I don't know I just don't like the fact that they are already redoing the history of the New 52.

Yeah, I'm not too happy about that. The first issue of the DCnU states outright Batman has not met Superman.

Did it state in Justice League 1 that they hadn't met? I know Bruce knew about Superman prior to going to see him. I'll have to look through that again.

It does, the exact words were:
Green Lantern: "You've met Superman?" Batman: "No. But I've researched him." Then in issue #2: Superman [to Batman]: Who are you and what are these for?

The New 52 is barely a year old and they're already ****ing up their own new continuity. Awesome.

Maybe they just met in a bathhouse and were both too embarrassed to tell anybody about it.
