I never got into the LOTR films (not that they're bad, just never could get into them).

I agree. Can't believe I forgot that one, too. The whole concept of those movies (taking the 60s family and putting them in the mid-90s) was brilliant. It poked fun at the show and characters while not full-on mocking them or being disrespectful. I also loved the friend that Marcia didn't realize was a lesbian (who also turned out to be REALLY hot, if you have ever watched the show Hung on HBO).

I can understand that. Some properties just don't click with some people. I could never get into the Narnia or Harry Potter series(mostly because children were the main characters).

Potter turned me off with the whole wizard school concept. Growing up around stuff like Dungeons and Dragons, where wizardry is mostly taught through intimate and lengthy apprenticeships, the idea of a magic curriculum has never sat well with me.

Although she was still very good in it, Silver Lining Playbook is the worst performance I've seen Jennifer Lawrence give yet.

Neither could I. I remember when the books started coming out, I was working at a golf club in Long Island and my gf worked at a bookstore (B&N). I remember a misguided weekend of thinking "Hey, this seems popular, I'll bring it on the train to read when I'm going to work." Terrible.

I love that we are getting a new Star Wars trilogy, but I'm not crazy about the idea of continuing the Skywalker stories. I had hoped they would do something along the line of The Old Republic.

I really like the car chase sequence in Terminator 3, and the running gag of having police cars, ambulances, fire trucks, a pet van, motorcycles, and almost every type of automobile along the entire film.

I didn't think Looper was all that good. I mean, ok, but nothing I care to ever watch again.

Looper is kind of a complete mess, IMO. Script-wise.

And Disney's Tarzan is the ****. Loved it since I was a kid, including the Collins music

Best thing about Looper is JGL's voice. Time travel.

One of the problems I had with looper was the Paul Dano torture scene. I mean, they make this guy a paraplegic, don't you think that would DRASTICALLY affect his future? So much so that it would disable him from traveling back to the past in the first place ?

One major problem with the movie Looper is how many times JGL shot BW
How many times did he die? Why is it that young Gordon Levitt shoots Bruce Willis on several different occasions before Willis rebels?

Also, I felt like Looper would have flowed better if

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
Instead of showing Bruce Willis get away, then cut back to show JGL shoot him and live for 30 years, THEN go back to Bruce Willis getting away, it would have shown his kill him first. That way, it kind of catches the viewer off guard because obviously we are expecting Bruce Willis to get away, so it should have started with the clean kill. Then show JGL age, his life turning to crap and then getting better with that wife. THEN you show him alter the past by escaping. Also, all of the TK stuff was stupid.

I think Gone with the Wind is deeply overrated.

Cinematography aside, I think the writing and performances are incredibly dated, and four hours of that was more than I ever care to see again.

The entire movie works like that. In fact, most time travel movies kinda skip over many major paradoxes.

Take the ending for example:
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
If JGL shot himself at a young age, Bruce Willis wouldn't have been able to stir up all the trouble at the end of the movie. Nobody would have been looking for him, there wouldn't be a truck full of gold bricks, the kid wouldn't be freaking out, etc.....it just never would have happened, but instead, he just vanishes from thin air, while he was till able to cause all that drama. It doesn't make sense.
