I'm surprised that THG didn't get any Oscar moms for best costume designs or even any tech noms. Maybe because it came out too soon in the year?

I was pleasantly surprised by the first movie as it was better than i expected and far better than Twilight, i'm looking forward to the next one and maybe the teaser will hit this spring.

Whatever problems some people had with the first one, it was still a quality film. Yes it destroys Twilight.

I don't think THG ever had a chance at getting any noms. Maybe Catching Fire though, now that they have a bigger budget.

Jennifer Lawrence has confirmed that they're still filming and that they have another week and a half. Also, they're doing re shoots in March.

I always pictured Gannicus from Spartacus as Finnick when I was reading the books.

Well, there's a new director and DP behind the scenes of that movie... so it does look somewhat different. Looks more colorful... at least the Capitol scenes are. But it's not a drastically different look from the first film.

The images don't really tell us much visually as all the scenes that have a lot of color were scenes that are suppose to have a lot of color than usual in the books.

But Francis Lawrence is known for his beautiful visuals and a lot of the cast have made comments on this, so I'm sure it'll look a lot better than THG. And he's promised us that the film won't look saturated and gray (e.g: most of the District 12 and arena scenes in the first movie)

February would be the earliest, with April at the latest for a teaser. Trailer will hit around June.

Competition was heavy this year and THG didn't really stand out in either regard imo.

Not necessarily. I also think Hawkingbird was a bit sarcastic.

Lionsgate ain't wasting time on getting the two-part Mockingjay off the ground. Danny Strong completed his script for Part 1, the folks at Lionsgate loved it and now he's working on Part 2.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hea...r-danny-421902

I get why Lionsgate is spacing the installments apart a year (more money for fiscal years 2014 and 2015), but it would make more sense for Parts 1 and 2 to be 6-8 months apart. Keeps the series afresh in folks' minds.

It won't really matter, by that point most of the audience will be fans of the series. The casual will be less inclined to see the last installment without enjoying the previous ones.

I very much prefer Mockingjay to Catching Fire. I don't get at all why Mockingjay is often considered the weakest in the trilogy. I think it's the most original of the three and the story is daringly bittersweet.

It also steps everything up a notch and brings it to a larger scale. Adding themes like consequences of war and use of propaganda. Without losing the more intimate themes of love in extreme circumstances, loyalty and survival that is present in it's predecessors.

It goes deeper and plays harder and is because of that not as exciting or affective as The Hunger Games. But it wins in other areas and definitely over Catching Fire.

I don't feel great about them dividing the book into two films though. The first half is more of a build up and not very rewarding without the second half – which means a film of the first half could become a bit boring and a bit of a haul.

With all this said, I'm still very excited for Catching Fire!

Fantastic posters. And I love how even the posters themselves are in character so to speak.
