Aha, well it sounds like it had some potential. If it's something he really wanted to get off the ground, IM3's success could certainly help him do that, assuming it's as big a hit as expected, of course.

Last Action Hero was one of my brother and I's favorite films as kids. I think we like it even more now.

And yes, the link is not safe for work. There's some cussing in it, I skimmed it...I don't think he goes into details about the DC, other than the car chase scene.

sounded good until they said the overblown crap car chase would be 30% longer

Having heard almost solidly bad things about this movie, and add to that the fact that it has been watered down for the UK market to achieve a 12A rating, I think that I shall be giving this a miss at the cinema and wait for the inevitable blu-ray that has the "uncut" version.

I firmly blame the studios for their profiteering attitude. Film making used to be about the film. Now it`s all about the money.

Well...I cna't find this info...but I swear I read long ago the car chase took 58 days to film in Russia...so if that is true, I would liek to see a much longer eidt of that scene.

Beautiful Creatures is giving it a run for its money. "Twilight meets the Hunger Games" is how one ad described it.

It was always all about the money. The difference now is that word of mouth spreads so fast thanks to twitter and the internet that a film can become toxic extremely quickly. If anything there is more incentive for studios to make good films now, because it is much harder for bad ones to do well than it used to be, especially domestically.

You mean Safe Haven or whatever it's called. BC flopped. Not even $15M 5 day...

Poor Jeremy Irons...

Jeremy Irons probably doesn't care. Beautiful Creatures looks like one of those paycheck movies he does like Eragon, The Time Machine or Pink Panther 2.

I agree with Vile so I guess I live up to the name as well.

I haven't seen the film so I can't directly comment on it's quality, not really anyway but if this stops Hackmore from directing any more films this failure is good for cinema. Ofcourse it's going to do gangbusters overseas so I expect another useless sequel but it won't be directed by that hack director.

Went in with low expectations. It still managed to piss me off at several points, especially because of the wasted potential, as they got at least one thing right: Die Hard shouldn't be aimed at the Twilight audience. And this wasn't. It had that mad, joyful, non-PC spirit of the classic 1980s action and shoot-em up movies and you can see moments where it has its heart at the right place - but Skip Woods and John Moore simply don't have the chops to deliver something better than this. The script is a useful first draft AT BEST. The direction has some spirited fragements, in which Moore seems to at least show some initiative, but is generally off (simply put, the guy's a hack). I enjoyed it more than Live Free or Die Hard (which is, technically, a better and better directed movie, but to me has no charm whatsoever, came off as dull and has more in common with adolescent flicks rather than the action genre), even though it has more flaws and hope it will deliver at the box office as this is a millimetric step in the right direction - but they've got to get their act together and hire talented people!

P.S.: He isn't given much to work with, but Willis doesn't play Batman like in the last movie, but (at least tries to play) McClane here.
P.P.S.: I sure enjoyed Marco Beltrami's music this time (and hoped he wouldn't return) --- keep him for the 6th!

It was a horrible movie and a disgrace to the franchise. I think a message needs to be sent to Fox that they went the backwards route here.

Also check out your own nickname.

What bothered me the most was that The Rock was in three trailers before the movie. My god that man is in every movie now.
And he wasn't even on vacation, so even that made no sense.

The movie looked pretty ridiculous from the trailers, so I wasn't surprised when the movie turned to be ridiculous too. When the son made a comment about going in "guns blazing, making **** as we go", I was sure that was an actual note from whatever script meetings they might have had. When I saw the original movie in the theater, the sound went out in the last 10 minutes...and it was still better than any of the dialogue in this movie.

So not a very good movie, but my dad and I had fun just having a laugh out of it. We've seen all of the Die Hard movies together, so it's tradition.
