I don't see Sony blocking used games on it's console. I can see Microsoft doing it because they have a history of restricting software, but blocking used games kinda goes against Sony's attempts to have a pure gaming machine with the PlayStation 4.

The PS4 will be the first system I've ever bought for myself at launch. Every other system I've owned has been a Christmas gift, at least a year or more after they've been available. Bought myself the PS3, but that was in 2010. Really excited for Wednesday.

I think the DualShock Playstation controller is one of the best and most comfortable controllers out there. And I love the Xbox and 360 controllers. I don't have massive hands though but skinny ones...

I'm thinking the same thing for myself, even though I got a PS3 just last summer I don't want to miss out! I got a Original Xbox about 10 or 11 months before the 360 came out... Although I may wait because a better version seems to always follow a year or so later. The more hard drive space the better.

I never gotten a console on launch, but I have to wonder, are they ever worth getting right away?

For me, I kinda feel like its better to take a wait and see approach and hear what others are saying before making a big purchase like that, just in case there are some bugs or something that needs to be worked out.

I got the Dreamcast at launch and the PS1 on my birthday which was a month after its launch and IMO, both were worth it, especially the Dreamcast which had alot of good games during that fall. The DC unfortunately had a short lifespan but I dont think the PS1 had any hardware revision till the PSOne when the system was on the decline and PS2 was launching

I got the PS1 in 1998 for Xmas with the brand new then DualShock controllers. It was funny because I didn't see the no analog stick controllers until a couple years later and thought it was amazing.

I'm still wondering if the middle is a screen or just a trackpad. Only a minority of reports are saying trackpad, so...

Most reports have said its a trackpad. It doesn't even resemble a screen in the prototype image

I was kinda wondering if they were going to do each system/console in order of release, which would lead them perfectly into Wednesday, but if that were the case, PSP should've been next.

Epic fail on Sony's part if this Vita stuff happens OUTSIDE they're much hyped Feb 20 event. Like seriously, do they NOT want any attention on Vita?

I really wonder if they are going to do the PSP or Vita at all for videos. I think the videos are showing the home consoles, because it's leading to the announcement of the PS4.

Given the timing of the announcement, it makes me wonder if they were planning on saving something for Wednesday or if Wednesday is going to be so big that they need more time.

But it's kinda weird that this will be taking place at 3am ET, 12amPT, so I don't know how much of an American audience they will be targeting.

The Vita stuff was a price cut in Japan, so it's a safe bet a similar cut will occur for the West on Feb 20th.

Hmmm, I wonder if they are going to discontinue the Wifi model. Dropping the price of both it and 3G to the same price....whats the point? I think they will get rid of whtever Wifi-only models they have and just sell the 3G at the lower price point

Too little too late on the Vita. I bought mine and was one of the few systems Ive ever regretted.

Yeah, I like to wait about 6 months anymore. It gives time for major hardware glitches to be fixed. Also launch titles usually aren't a bountiful harvest of AAA titles. Tax refunds this year got me a laptop that can play a few newer games, nothing high end (still planning on saving a couple grand for a real gaming PC), and I'm still happy with my PS3. Also plan on getting a 3DS sometime before the end of the year. So I'm not in a rush to get it at launch. Though I definitely plan on getting one, unless all of the bad, anti-user friendly rumors come true. PS3 has been my favorite console gen, so Sony pretty much already has my money at some point in the future.

Ya people said the same with the PS3 and it's outselling the 360 overall with a year behind them in sales. The point is it's not too late. You just never know. But I'm not big into handhelds anymore. The older I get the less time I prefer to use them.

You never can be certain with that type of stuff.
