But instead we got an action comedy, pretty much.
And thank you for reminding me of Unfaithful. Oh, Diane Lane, how we love you.

I wish the script for Raimi's Spider-Man 4 would get out there. I really wanted to know what that film was going to be like.

It's be Spider-Man 3.2 with its finale being the midpoint of Spider-Man 2. I mean, the villain is Pete's father-in-law.

I heard about that. I wonder why they decided against it in the end. Not that I'm complaining, but I would have loved to see Callahan's last hurray.

I finished reading the Tonight, He Comes script last night (probably spent more time than I should have reading it at work. Luckily no one came into my office to bother me with actual work). It was definitely VERY different than the final product. I did really like the concept, but for some reason, I feel like the script itself (mostly the dialogue and interactions between some of the characters) weren't executed all that well, but really, getting the right director and actors would fix that just fine.
While I do believe a better film could have come from this script/plot than the final product we got with Hancock, I don't think it would have been as commercially successful.

Morbid curiosity makes me wish "The Day the Clown Cried" had been released just to see what a trainwreck it would have been.

Wasn't there a Moby Dick film project that was abandoned in recent years?
I'd love to see a new MD film, preferably with Viggo Mortenssen as Ahab.

I had actually come up with a plot outline for that movie. Callahan is retired, when he gets an anonymous letter in the mail telling him to watch the news. When he turns on the news he learns that someone is re-enacting the sniper killings of the first film. Harry volunteers to work with the police as a consultant. Every time they are about to catch the copycat, he changes to a different case of Callahan's (the cases from the other Dirty Harry films).

Anyways, I REALLY wish Walter Hill got a chance to turn Streets of Fire into a trilogy as intended. That movie is so awesome. |

You know I just finished that Tonight, He Comes script, and I dunno, I feel like the version we got would have been the superior version if they had changed up the ending a lot. Sometimes things feel a bit too dark and depressing and that's certainly the feeling I got off that script. Also I have Hancock as Will Smith in my mind, and the script's Hancock felt pretty flat on paper. Really it never even gave Mary a reason for being anymore special than anyone else except she was nice to Hancock as a person, not as a hero.

Yeah, that sounded awesome. Like a Medieval take on Michael Mann's Heat with Russell Crowe and Christian Bale.

And I can't even justify myself by saying I was drunk when I typed it.
![]() I meant: It was going to have SM3 levels of cheese, the ending would have been Spidey giving up again (which happened around the middle of SM2) and Raimi's obsession to link the villain(s) to Peter would've been ridiculous, as the villain would have been his father-in-law (Pete was dating the Vulture's daughter).

What was the film I heard back some years ago where Will Smith and Johnny Depp were the lead stars and Johnny Depp was supposed to be the villain in the story? Was that I Am Legend or some other movie?
