Could it be the Cain and Abel film project that Smith has been linked to for a few years? Btw what happened to this one? Was it abandoned? Wasn't Cain a vampire or something? Any info on this?

yea i thought that depp was gunna play a vampre king, and will smith would have been a van helsing type. I was so hyped for this movie, due to it would be depps first villain role (at least i think)

I would have liked and still would like to see that. I might be wrong, but I don't think Depp has ever played a full-on villain, he played questionable characters but I'm not sure he played a true bad guy yet.
That might be one of the reasons why he is doing "Black Mass" now.

Speaking of Depp, bad guys and abandoned films, I read somewhere a few years back that Depp was considering playing Charles Manson.
Now that I would also have loved to see.

and this was Cameron back when he was on his A game
Cameron described it as an Aliens version of Jurassic Park, while I love what we have there's no doubt his version would of been crazy to see.

Keanu Reeves owes his career to Johnny Depp turning down parts in the 90s.

Bram Stocker's Dracula as William Harker (played by Keanu Reeves)
Speed (played by Keanu Reeves)
Point Break (played by Keanu Reeves)
The Matrix (played by Keanu Reeves)

Interestingly, he was also going to star in a Speed Racer movie that was going to be produced in the mid-90s but never got going for one reason or another.

Man, I love Depp, and he is a far better actor than Reeves, but Point Break is like a perfect Keanu role. I also can't picture Depp as Neo. He definitely would have been better as William Harker, though.

Interesting.
I also agree with Donnie Darko that Reeves was great in all of them, minus Dracula. I think he is underrated and that he has gotten better over the years.

I would have liked to see Mel Gibson's take on "Fahrenheit 451."

The film is based on the short story "The Hypnotist" by Tod Browning who also directed the film. London After Midnight starred Lon Chaney, Marceline Day, Conrad Nagel, Henry B. Walthall, and Polly Moran.
The movie is now lost and remains one the most famous and eagerly sought of all lost films. The last known copy was destroyed in the 1967 MGM Vault fire. In 2002, Turner Classic Movies aired a reconstructed version using the original script and film stills.[1]
The setting of the film is 1920s London. Sir Roger Balfour is found shot to death in his home. Inspector Burke (Lon Chaney) of Scotland Yard is called in to investigate. The suspects are Williams (the butler), Sir James Hamlin (Henry B. Walthall) and his nephew, Arthur Hibbs (Conrad Nagel). A suicide note is found and the case is supposedly closed.
Five years later, the old residence of Balfour is taken up by a man in a beaver-skin hat, with large fangs and gruesome, sunken eyes. His assistant is a ghostly woman, with flowing robes and raven black hair. Could it be Balfour, returned from the dead?
Wha... what? This sounds awesome. My kind of movie too. Damn shame this has been lost.
