He was a good Cyclops in X1, he can do it man. If anything bring him back like at the end to hint at a new movie with Cyclops as the leader. Feature Mr. Sinister and re-introduce Gambit too while we're at it.

....Did I just read a post indicating that Cyclops has largely been ignored due to the fact that his visors cover his eyes
That line of reasoning makes no sense when you consider that Darth Vader is hugely popular....and you couldnt even see his entire FACE. No, the simple matter is that for fox, Cyclops was not a priority. The priority was having everything revolve around Wolverine. That's why a strapping, 6'3 leading man actor was cast to play a role based on a character that was historically a hairy 5'3 runt. It's why Cyclops, who historically looks like a strapping 6'3 leading man (albeit with a visor on his face) had a 5'10 actor known primarily for supporting roles playing him. When the X-Books were at the height of their popularity during the Claremont/Byrne run, Cyclops was one of the main characters. Hell, in some ways he was the main character when the books first started out. The character has all the tools to be a main player, and anyone who's read the past few years of X-Comics has known this. Simply put, Fox wanted to turn the X-Men's Han Solo into Han Solo AND Luke Skywalker at the same time, while they took the closest thing to the X-Men's actual Luke Skywalker and made him less then even Lando. |

We really, really DON'T need Cyclops back. Or Jean. They're too young to be in the past and too dead to be in the future scenes. Bringing them back in either timeline of this movie would be insulting.

$10 says they'll be in the movie at the end after the future has been changed.

With Famke waiting for that phone call, I still feel like we haven't seen the last of her as Jean Grey. I think Singer will give us subtle hints of Jean and Scott's return...and just maybe they will make an appearance at the end of DOFP.

I'd love the see them reappear at the end of the film as others have suggested.
My hope for Famke being in the film rests on her not having announced a new project for her hiatus from her new show, Hemlock Grove. Also, why would they waste a cameo in Wolverine on a character who is not coming back when Fox is making a concerted effort to connect the films? |

I feel like Storm, Jean, and Cyclops are the most needed characters in this movie.
Famke was one of my favourite things about the trilogy, and I would be ecstatic if she's in this one. The enormous power of the Phoenix in X3 is enough to explain how she's still alive. Why would anyone be convinced that Wolverine's claws killed her? Or they could do the alternate timeline route. That being said, I can see them being reluctant to bring her back because it would be the second time they would need to explain why she's not dead. At least she had some great moments in the trilogy. But it's a travesty that Cyclops and Storm haven't been properly represented. They both had capable and charismatic actors, but didn't have anything to work with. They had some good moments, but they were few and far between. I can't even call it a proper X-men film series if Cyclops and Storm aren't integral to the stories they are telling. I liked First Class, but it didn't feel like a real X-men movie to me, and I think thats because it was missing Jean, Cyclops, and Storm.

MadOnes, you and I are alike. While X3 wasn't that good, I think Famke's performance is what held the movie in tact to a certain degree. She was the only good thing in the movie. Sadly
and I wish we got more. Anyone viewed my Jean Grey video?

I wanna see Cyclops using his intense optic blasts against a sentinel and lead the team as he did in the first xmen movie, we need this. If he doesn't bring back Cyclops in this movie, I will feel betrayed. I must keep the faith alive.

I don't know why how they would get resurrected if the X-Men managed to prevent the Sentinel-attack event to happen in the future when Cyclops wasn't even killed by a Sentinel but Jean Grey.

I really liked Famke Janssen in the original trilogy, though her character wasn't given as much to do as what her story arc warranted. I don't know if I want her to return though. She died twice in these movies already, for her to be back again as anything other than a flashback is an overkill IMO.
Cyclops... well the original movies didn't really do much to make me care about him. I had an impression that on one hand they wanted to create a rivalry between him and Logan, but on the other hand they didn't want him to be a real threat to either Logan or to the Logan/Jean romance. I felt that there was absolutely no zing to Jean/Scott as a couple. |
