I like that the shape at the top of the S is mirrored at the bottom. It always seemed odd to me that the top of the S usually has the box with the triangle in it and the bottom has a big knob.

I agree that the symmetry makes it look better and sleek. I don't mind the traditional square look, but I never really liked the round knob at the bottom. I wonder what a square top and bottom would look like.

Idk Kal-El I think it would look pretty neat. If the traditional \S/ had an edge on the bottom rather than the round knob I think it would look better.

This IS indeed very big! Bigger then i expected someone would make it!

I will use this as wallpaper for my computer and maybe for making a t-shirt.

This link http://img547.imageshack.us/img547/9292/shieldj.png works fine for me on safari and firefox. If you are on the mobile then it may not come up because the image is so big or something. It doesn't download as quick as smaller images.

Yes that would look dope on a t-shirt. I need more graphic tees to add to my collection. At first I thought the slim parts on the top and bottom of the S looked strange...similar to how some say it gives a whirlpool effect. However, it has grown on me and looks more alien and not necessarily an 'S' which IMO is good because it is his family crest and not an 'S' for "superman" but humans and our ignorance would think its an S and dub the man Superman.

That makes me wonder if he won't be called Superman until the end of the second or mid third act, if at all. I can see him being referenced as "some super man" but not the Superman lol.

^For that to be a fair comparison, you should put it next to the symbol that was actually on Routh's chest, as that's the one from Cavill's. Or put both the 'marketing versions together.

I loved the design of the Returns S, it's excellent. Just not that specific version of it (the one above). Remember when they first revealed it? The silver, metallic version on the blue background? Now that was damn nice.

They do have a shirt with a textured Superman Returns shield, so I wouldn't be surprised if we got a similar one for Man of Steel.
