That's why I think the Sentinel vs. X-Men battle scenes might be dripping with lame. Where's "the air-game"?
Banshee's the only other one I can think of. Other than him, both Angel's, Storm (sort of flew) and Magneto (sort of flew), the films don't have any other flying characters.

Has the actor playing Banshee been announced yet for this production? I can't remember.

Well, either way, he doesn't have a future equivalent to fight anything off in a dystopian future, so...no alpha-flight for anyone.

Maybe Bryan is planning on giving Rogue her "Ms. Marvel" treatment so she can take flight finally? I mean, I'm still dumbfounded that he's including her in this film since she'd be useless in a Sentinel battle in her powerless state from X3.

Rogue's film character has served her story purpose primarily in X1 and also again with the Cure in X3. She's had her day from a narrative point of view as a depowered waste of space so yes, it's a good point on why bring her back in that useless state to fight Sentinels.

But on Banshee he would have an older version we just didn't meet in X1-3 right? I don't think the actor was announced yet. And they're going to cut some guys surely. The natural candidates from First Class would be the X-kids minus maybe the best ones ie Hoult & Lawrence.

I just realized: there haven't been any casting announcements for the X-Team or Brotherhood in a while. The film's main antagonist has been revealed. I wonder if we have all of the big names in place at this point?

I'd say, along with Wolverine, Rogue was kind of the central protagonist of Singer's X-Men movies. I imagine that's why he's bringing her back.

I hope they will use the look of the subbasement that were used in X1 to X3!

I hope there will be a teaser.

I think Origins went to SDCC too or was it Comic-con? they showed a trailer.

only time will tell
I don't know how Captain America/Thor would perform because those movies won't be opening during the summer, its a little hard to predict. For Amazing Spider-Man, I hope the audience didn't like The Amazing Spider-Man (well I didn't) that the box-office numbers of TAS2 wouldn't be outgross the box-office numbers of TAS1. I don't think the movie really made an impact last year, so I wouldn't be surprised if didn't outgross the first movie.

They should maximize all the possibilities to promote the movie!

And I'm thinking if they should put a teaser trailer of DOFP on the post-credits scene of The Wolverine.

I think we can assume the cure did not work at this point considering OT Magneto will be in the future scences. Also people will be just as confused aboit Xavier in the future scences because not everyone knew to stay after X3s credits.

Reboot thiz ***** already.

Perhaps. I don't think that's a good reason though for a solid Days Of Future Past storyline.

Either DOFP acts as the reboot or they do a total reboot at some point in the not too far future. And when they do that film can be as big as Avengers if they get it right.

Seeing how The Hobbit pt3 is this film's competition next July, I would think using The Hobbit pt2 as a way to promote DOFP makes the most sense. That's where you release the teaser trailer. It would be a nice FU to WB.

I trust Bryan when he says every character in this film has a specific purpose. Honestly, Rogue and Kitty are the two I'm most excited for with that in mind. Only because they're the two I can't really place at the moment.

What I'm saying is they should do what Captain America did to The Avengers at the theaters. When the film ended, we saw a trailer of The Avengers and people got really excited about it. I think it would be exciting if The Wolverine shows a trailer of DOFP after the movie. It would raise awareness to casual viewers about the next movie and it would build more hype!

I am fairly certain Rogue will have super strength and flight in DoFP even if for one scene, why bring her back and NOT give Rogue her signature powers?

For the same reason she was brought back in two other films and didn't get those "classic" powers. She's one of the main players in this version of the X-Men and audiences are relatively familiar with her.

That would be amazing, but they run the risk of being accused of copying Marvel.

Yeah, it was even hinted at that the cure doesn't last at the end of TLS.

I wonder if Magneto will be seemingly depowered in DoFP, until he finally displays his abilities again and rips out of a prison. Maybe he's been spending all of that time in a containment camp(if there are camps) secretly trying to regain all of his power. It would be a great reveal.

Then we could also accuse Marvel Studios for including a scene after the credits of their movies! X3 did it first. At the end of the day, its for marketing. Who cares who did it first if it will help the movie to earn more money at the box-office.

Actually, Daredevil did it 3 years before The Last Stand. As for a trailer attached to The Wolverine, I'm not sure one will be included. I think it depends on what Singer has planned for Comic-Con the week before.

They would probably use the same footage at Comic-Con and on the end of The Wolverine. Not everyone will get to see the Comic-Con footage - it will get released online at some point but it won't be as accessible as being put at the end of The Wolverine.

I see no problem with adding the teaser trailer to The Wolverine, it doesn't feel like copying Marvel Studios.

The only 'issue' would be that fans who saw the Comic-Con teaser might be expecting something else to be added to The Wolverine, as another incentive to see it. Perhaps they will make The Wolverine version a bit different, with a couple of new images/scenes in it.

I don't either, though my fear is that they won't have adequate footage by then. It's one thing to release an exclusive sneak peak at Comic-Con that may not be on par with typical teaser trailers. It's another to actually release it in theaters. Granted, it worked for X2, but this isn't 2003 and that kind of trailer may not hold up too well anymore. I just don't want them to get off on the wrong foot just for the sake of rushing to put something out there, but we'll see.
