I recently got into Kowloon Walled City. I mostly see them described as noise rock. I don't really know what that means, but I do know that they're heavy as ****. I love the stripped down production and lack of frills. No click tracks, just four guys in a room hammering away at their instruments. I love that guitar tone.

Holy ****!!!

Helloween's new album "Straight Out Of Hell" is some of the best I've ever heard!!!

The title track is probably my favourite song of all at this moment!

The metal band that has most grabbed me since Kowloon Walled City last month is Bell Witch. They're a two piece, a drummer and a bass player, both of whom sing, shriek, and growl. It's Doom with a capital D. Ugly, mournful, slow, raw, dirty, and heavy as ****. When I first heard them I never would've guessed it was just two guys. The bassist plays with lots of distortion and he uses tapping to play melodies over chords to fill out the sound with lead lines and counter melodies, but, without ever being flashy about it. It just sounds like a band, not some guy showing off. Great stuff. Check it out.

Ticket boughts to an evening of Entombed playing together with a symphony orchestra, doing the entire Clandestine album

I'm taking my little brother as well, this will be his first ever metal concert and I'm seriously jealous of him for that hehe.

The newly revitalised Queensrÿche with Todd La Torre on vocals singing Queen of the Reich! Getting rid of Geoff Tate and his family managing the business was a very smart move. Was it too late after the past 15 years? Well it's clearly obvious the guys had enough of Tate's dictatorial ways. Two versions of Queensrÿche is going to be confusing however, so here's hoping the Court decision over who gets to keep the name goes in Wilton, Rockenfield and Jackson's favour. And it's said that founding member Chris DeGarmo quit because of Tate as well.

As for Tate's QR album Frequency Unknown (FU), the iTunes samples including re-recorded Queensrÿche classics sounds horrible. And I'm not talking about the production either.

Anyway back to Todd La Torre belting out the classic tune....
