Of course it isn't. Especially it wasn't made by Marvel Studios.

Unquestionably. Its the first film I watch whenever I decide to do a MCU week. Iron Man is great, but Hulk is a better starting point. And a proper origin story for the titular character, after all.

Nope,it is not a Marvel studios movie and the origins are completely different from what has been established in the MCU with TIH and Avengers.

I mean... how is it we even get to decide? It either is or isn't, isn't it?

And no, I don't, it's not possible seeing as how the events of "becoming" the hulk were to have happened 2 times then...

I think Marvel are still trying to decide how much of Hulk 08 is actually canon!

I am really shocked how many people liked that film compared to TIH. Hulk was Hulk Trash! TIH isn't the greatest thing but I found it far superior. Best thing from Ang Lee's Hulk was I love how he showed Hulk's speed and incredible bounce. Besides that, I thought it was horrible

Yep.It seems cut and dry enough.

AngHulk fans usually will go by the theory that since the film ended in south america and TIH began in south america they're somehow purposefully linked.

It's not canon, but one could watch it before the MCU as some kind of "Prelude", even if it's as canon to the MCU as Sam Raimi's Spider-Man or the x-men movies.

And avengers mentioned many things from TIH,in TWS they also talk about Banner's stress problems as established in TIH.So that movie is canon even with a different actor.

This thread is about Ang Lee's Hulk, nobody is talking about Incredible Hulk because that film is indeed canon

Yeah I know I was just saying that rather than ang Lee's Hulk,TIH is the only Hulk movie within the MCU.

What I've heard is that initially TIH was intended to be a soft reboot, with some ambiguity on whether or not it ties into Ang's Hulk.

Except there are glaring inconsistencies, so maybe Leterrier changed course during pre-production.

But while Avengers references TIH, Tony's dialogue with Bruce makes me think of the 2003 origin. TIH's origin was no "accident" with "gamma levels that should have killed Bruce". It was a controlled experiment that produced results that they weren't expecting. So what Tony's describing is more in line with 2003's Bruce taking an unregulated dose of gamma radiation and surviving because something inside him was already predisposed to such exposure.

Also in Avengers they refer to incidents being based on anger, instead of heart rate. There's just, so many inconsistencies and I hope they eventually iron it out somehow. That might be the only way they can reliably dive deeper into the character with a solo film at this point. Pick a canon and roll with it. I don't even care if they have to retcon some things at this point.

I go with no because of The fact that The Hulk's origin is retold differently in the MCU, and also the fact that the character of Talbot died in Hulk but will be appearing on Agents of Shield.

I did, but since they're bringing Talbot back into the MCU I guess that will cement it as non-canon, which is a shame as it's a good film in its own way, but understandable.

I wish it were canon, certainly. A far, far better General Ross, among other things.

AngHulk should be shown in prisons to death row inmates to make them suffer even more before they die.

The response to that question is quite obvious. I believe we should consider MCU as the series of movies which Marvel Studios has been delivering since 2008. This definition doesn't allow Ang Lee's film to be called the part of MCU. Besides, I hate it so I would rather it had nothing to do with what Marvel is bringing us nowadays.

I think they'd march to the death chamber cheerfully if given the choice of watching that film or taking that last walk early.

Whereas if you want to be merciful, you can show them TIH. That way they'll be bored into a stupor and not even notice their own execution.
