But, lets face it BB, grounded and realistic have been the favourite words for comic book movies, and many action movies for that matter since Batman Begins (for CBM's) and the likes of Bourne and Casino Royale (for action movies in general).

A mix between Blade Runner and the narrows of Batman Begins is how I think of MegaCity One

The comics version definately, the movie look was a bit more TDK trilogy than BR, but again, the movie look has grown on me a lot.

Some figures for Dredd s North American DVD sales on its first week. I m guessing you could at least expect about the same figure for the rest of the world.

Well, it nearly made what it made domestically at the BO on DVD, thats not counting BD sales either, so thats good, I magine its doubled that amount since then. Whether its enough or not? I kinda doubt it, but we will see.

Looking at China's box office numbers I find it difficult to predict the type of film they go for but I don't think Dredd would've been hurt by including Walter the robot.
http://boxofficemojo.com/intl/china/opening/ I'd be happy with a few million but ya never know. |

^Well again, at this point a few million would be a bonus, if its makes more, great.

Talked a new co-worker into renting it and watching it. He said he was blown away at how much he liked it. Couldn't believe he missed it at the theater.
Chalk this film's money making woes to limited advertising.

Same here, this was arguably my favorite movie of last year, it's in a constant quarrel with cabin in the woods and the avengers.

^Its definately up there for me, there were plenty of good-great movies last year, and this was one of them. The only thing is its gone very quiet on the sequel, and thats never a good sign.

Riddick had a bankable star in vin diesel and machete costs like 15 bucks to make.
