I would like to see Robin in a new movie, but it really depends on the style/tone of the movies. But if they did, I rather it be Dick Grayson, and I would hope they don't mess with an origin. Maybe talk about it in flashbacks here and there, but I don't want a lengthy explanation as to why he became Robin. Just have him kicking ass the second we see him on screen.

I don't particularly wanna see any Robin origins in the series either. At least not a film dedicated to it as a part of the main plot. However, I'd have Tim as Robin in the series. Because it allows for the first film in the series to be based on Under the Hood, which could include Nightwing, which could then be used as the basis for a spin-off film which could delve more into Grayson's formative days in both identities.

If they are going to have a Robin, it should be the original one, Grayson.

I said it because, in a movie franchise, we haven't really seen a good Batman & Robin dynamic. There is so much more than "Death in the Family", and it can be done very good. If they go for a father/son kind of dynamic it would be great for me.
Bringing Robin just for killing him isn't right.

Dick Grayson has now not been Robin almost as long as he was Robin. Also, pretty much all his character growth didn't happen while he was Robin.

Jason Todd for Robin
If they do make him the Red Hood, I hope they don't kill and resurrect him

If it's Jason Todd then he's gotta die and come back IMO, without it there's just no impact, plus the GA needs a reason to hate jokers guts.

Jason can see Joker killing his mom as he found her
Don't need to see Jason himself die

nowadays (scenes like the intro to under the red hood for instance ) it's only shown that joker killed jason and jason alone. what made the act so ****ed up in my opinion is the fact that this mother that jason searched his whole life for, and traveled all the way to the other side of the globe to meet for the first time, betrayed him in fear of the joker and was then forced to watch as he beats the son that she just met after years to a bloody pulp with a crowbar, not even bothering to stop as she's crying and being forced to watch, then the emotional impact of the fact that even after all that , jason STILL tried to save her , and they still didn't make it in the end. if there's anything to make the GA truly hate joker, it's this. |

I recognise that you have an opinion, but given that it's a stupid ass opinion, I'll elect to ignore it.

I think the perception of Robin in the fan community has changed since the Nolan trilogy has ended. It's time for Robin. We've had almost 10 years of no Robin, the next film should show the origin

i think they should have robin in the reboot. all of them. start of with dick grayson already established. if they go w a young dick (15-ish) then i would keep his actual crime fighting to a minimum. have him be more of a recon/ information gatherer/lookout type. maybe have him disobey batman and fight in the end ala coming to aid batman in the climax. if they go with an older dick (17+) then itd be believable to see him fighting alongside batman. in the 2nd film they could fast foward a few years and have tim be robin, and only breifly mention that there was a second robin before tim ( think the newer btas). in the 3rd or 4th film you could introduce a new mysterious and brutal vigilante named red hood. the climax of course him being revealed as the 2nd fallen robin. they could tell his story thru flash backs. what do yall think??

I'm not entirely confident in a Batman reboot that (a) jumps right into the central story-line with a lack of origin, having Robin as an already joined force with Wayne, (b) attempts to portray a dual origin plot, showing the rise of Batman AND the introduction of Robin, or (c) depicts Wayne as an established superhero and introduces Robin's origin (that'd seem more a Robin-centered film than a BM one). At least, none of these possible actions would feel appropriate for the first film of a reboot.

Nightwing's origin wouldn't need to be shown in a Batman film. He is far more viable to spin off into his own franchise than any other bat character and can be done that way.
