i know. but that's why i suggested him for Lang; instead of Pym. i'm looking at Scott's in-movie story as something other than a hero origin. he's a desperate man trying to save his daughter. Pym would be the movie-verse Ant-Man (until becoming Giant-Man). Tudyk's not my first, second, or third choice. but i think he looks the part. and he has taken much smaller roles (dodge ball playing pirate?).

Yeah I gotta say he moved right to the top of my list after that. The only thing is I find his accent sounds a little forced when he plays Americans but not enough that I wouldn't cast him. Also I wouldn't sneer at a Scottish or British Pym either.

The interview with Jude Law where he said he could be interested in playing heroes, got a lot of comments. Some people suggested Ant-Man as an opportunity for him to meet with Downey jr again, on-screen.
Why not?
I know some of you want McGregor. But I think there are several brits who can fit the role.

Mark Julian over at CBM caught a quick report by the AP that Paul Rudd was seen backstage at the Oscars with Chris Evans and Mark Ruffalo, who were also seen with Sam Jackson, RDJ and Jeremy Renner. AP speculated that he might be an "Avenger-in-training":

Rudd was hanging out backstage at the Oscars with the film's Chris Evans (Captain America) and Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk) when the Oscar show's talent coordinator, Danette Herman, spotted him.

"You look like one," Herman suggested.

Julian went on to say that Edgar Wright has previously mentioned Rudd as a potential Ant-Man. Put two and two together, and we might've found our Ant-Man last night at the Oscars.

that's why Lang and/or Pym should be Ant-man in the solo movie but Giant-Man should appear in one of the Avengers sequels. Giant-Man is more of a team character. Ant-Man's more of a solo character.

Rudd would make a great Edgar Wright protagonist, which is more than likely what Hank Pym/Scott Lang is going to turn out to be. At this point, Simon Pegg is probably still the odds-on favorite of Vegas bookies to land the title role.

Pegg might be a repeat offender in Wright's films but he isn't suitable for the role no matter which of the three Ant-Men they choose. The only characters I could imagine Pegg playing in Ant-Man would be Egghead or The Porcupine.

Simon Pegg would make an excellent Elias Starr (sounds more professional than 'Egghead'). i'd love to see him as a villain, for once. and he has played cerebral characters before. that said, i stll think that A.I.M should be the main villain; with Starr being one of their rotating head mad scientists.
