What really astounds me is that some actually believe Henry's performance alone will decide if the movie is good or not.

Cavill's track record doesn't inspire alot of confidence (memorable for one role) but I don't place much trust on what critics say. If he's at least on ScarJo's or Chris Evans' level, then that'll suffice for me.

I think the important thing to take away is that the consensus for the film is that it is a great film ie good reactions. That itself means that holistically all elements are good. the reaction to henry's performance was a side note, it wasnt as if it was the first thing said. somebody directly asked about his performance and that twitter guy replied, but it wasnt as if he wrote straight off the bat that henry dragged the film down. I think the fact that the reaction to the film (speculation so far) is fantastic means all elements work. There's no way henry is terrible and the film still can be called great. A terrible performance leaves a sour taste in the viewers mouth and taints the whole movie.

Yeah, not watching it at all for that possible reason alone is stupid. Thankfully we're hearing different stuff, and I cant imagine Cavill being worse than in Immortals in which he was fine.
