Well they show his action figure. He talked about fake Gladiator figures

There was nothing. Just a mention of the movie coming out and his action figure was shown and it was over.

So the latest trailer confirms that we will see at least two suits for Jor-El in the movie: he's wearing his scientist suit for most of his appearances and we see Lara caressing the hope sigil on his action figure armor.

Now it's the armor, and it's possible connotations for how much of a hero Jor-El is, that I want to talk about. While all the Kryptonians have sigils on their more spandexy looking suits, only Jor-El's battle armor has it when compared to Zod and Faora's armors. Maybe Jor-El made the hope symbol his own in the war against Zod? Like he wanted everyone to know who he was and what he believed and to be encouraged by his presence on the battlefield?

And I really dig the idea of Jor-El being a genius bruiser combatant in some fight scenes. Maybe Zod's really bitter about losing to an untrained nerd in warfare and that plays a part in the subtext of his trial. And I think we can safely say that lady staring at the explosions in the second trailer is Lara, so now I'm hoping we get a nice moment of the two embracing before the end of Krypton right before an explosion obscures our view of them.

Some interesting thoughts there. I like the idea of Jor-El being special in terms of always wearing the sigil of hope, even on his armour. However, the moments you mention involving Lara actually have led many here to believe that Jor-El does not survive to Krypton's end. People think that Zod may actually be imprisoned because he kills Jor-El. For instance, the fact that Lara touches Jor-El's armour longingly suggests that he misses him because he is not around anymore and it also explains why she appears to be alone when Krypton is exploding.

That actually would be kind of freakin' evil on Zod's part. Tell the man who defeated you that the son he sent off to be a refugee will never be safe, then kill him. Kind of makes me hope that Lara gets some awesome moments after her husband's death before the planet blows up. Maybe she records a final message that covers everything needed to be known about Zod and his crew and it reaches Kal-El in time to give him an edge in the fight.

Sorry, to clarify, people are pretty certain that Zod says "I will find him" and threatens Kal-El's safety to Lara after killing Jor-El. The sequence of events would be: Kal-El sent off, Zod kills Jor-El, Zod is tried and threatens Lara, Lara suffers Krypton's destruction alone.

Agreed and it would make things that much more personal between Superman and Zod in their battles against each other.

I love the idea that this article presents (on #11) that Superman's suit originally belonged to Jor-El. It would then be Kal-Elwearing his father's armor.

It's kind of like The Joker killing Bruce's parents in Batman '89. I hope the Superman/Zod dynamic doesn't completely revoke around vengeance. I also hope Zod killing Jor-El isn't played up as a factor in Clark's decision to don the Supersuit

Well I don't think anyone other than Zod and company can tell Clark that his birth father was killed by Zod and I don't think Clark meets them until after he dons on the suit.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry too much that the Superman/Zod battle will be one borne out of vengeance.

However, I do think if Jonathan Kent is killed by a tornado, we'll see Clark dedicate his life to getting revenge on tornadoes, like Helen Hunt in Twister.
