The first half of TASM didn't have Bruce Campbell or Macho Man Randy Savage, so it loses by default.

Spiderman 2 for me, I loved the first Spidey movie, though it took me several watches to do so at the time (which is ironic as its not that far behind Spidey 2 for me these days), but Spidey 2 I fell in love with straight away, and its still one of the best CBM's out there today, here is my list:

Spiderman 2: 10/10
Spiderman: 9/10
The Amazing Spiderman: 8/10 (was very dissapointed in the cinema, but its grown on me hugely on re-watch, still not as good as Raimi's first 2 movies though)
Spiderman 3: 7.5/10.

I have worries about ASM2 though, dont like the direction they are going with The Rhino at all, and some other things just seem off, hope I am proved wrong.

Well, can't argue with that logic.

I'd be surprised if it didn't. If it was a straight up vote between SM1 and TASM it would be a different story, but the vast majority of the Raimi fans are going to be voting for SM2 instead as it is generally agreed to be the best of the trilogy. TASM is going to be getting the anti-Raimi vote, so it naturally should get more votes than the second best Raimi film.

That is as close as it is between SM1 and TASM speaks very poorly on how well TASM was actually received.

I am not much of a Raimi fan at all, and I still say Spider-Man 2. It was well structured, entertaining and I really liked the scenes between Peter and Aunt May.

Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man
The Amazing Spider-Man = Spider-Man 3

I just don't hate SM3 nearly as much as most people on here seem to.

Spider-Man 2 on just about every level of filmmaking. Non of the other films come close to it.

Spider-man 2. Terrific action sequences. Great Villain. It really captured the essence of "Parker Luck".

SM1 and SM3 are just kinda silly. Not bad by any means. But silly. SM1 hasn't aged so well. SM3 has some great action though.

ASM just wasn't a very good film overall. I liked Garfield and Stone though.

Admittedly, when SM3 first came out I was kinda caught up in the hype and was quick to proclaim it "TEH BESTEST SPIDEY MOVIE EVAH!!!!!11!" but over time I did start to see some of the flaws.

But still, I think it's a serviceable film with it's share of problems but also some genuinely fantastic moments.

TASM is just a gigantic helping of "meh" for me. A shame because I really wanted to like it. (That ****ing line...)

I can't stand Raimi's Spider-Man movies. Too much cheese. Webb's Spider-Man took a lot of that out, so I enjoyed that version much more.

I have a soft spot for Spider-Man (2002). I agree Spider-Man 2 is the better film, but the first film help reinvigorate my love for Spider-Man.

Spider-Man 2 is at the pinnacle of superhero films, as far as I am concerned. Peter Parker was perfectly portrayed, his arc in the movie mirroring that in the comics. He has always been the hard-luck hero who constantly battled not only villains but his own personal problems, and in SM2 this formula was followed to a T. Peter's relationship with Aunt May was handled very well, and I loved that they had him confess to letting Uncle Ben's killer escape. The ending was hopeful but realistically downbeat. Peter and Mary Jane finally ended up together, but his responsibilities as Spider-Man would always call him away. It was, in a word, perfect.

Spider-Man only comes in second for me because it had so much to do as an origin story that it didn't hit the emotional depths that Spider-Man 2 was able to plumb. The interplay between Peter/Spider-Man and Willem Dafoe's Norman Osborn/Green Goblin was one of the great hero - villain face-offs, however. The writers got their dynamic just right, with Osborn as yearning to be a father figure to a young man he thought was better in every way than his underachieving son. This also gave emotional depth to Harry's pain and made the ultimate confrontation between Peter and Norman all the more powerful.

The Amazing Spider-Man is so low in my regard that I almost left it off the list entirely. The nearly 30-year-old Garfield is hideously miscast as a 16-year-old Peter Parker and it only gets worse from there. Every time I saw him around teenagers, he gave off a slightly pervy vibe because he's so obviously much older. Many have praised the film for putting a lot of wisecracks in Parker's mouth, but Garfield's acting makes the character seem more jerkass than wiseass. I won't even start on the dreadful snoutless CGI Lizard.

SM3 def has its flaws, but I also love certain things about it. I don't think the ovie is terrible by any means. Just flawed. TASM I thought would be much worse and I love certain things, but man does some stupid crap happen in the movie. I groan everytime at those stupid cranes.

While I truly hate Spider-Man 3(it happens when your favorite Spider-Man villain of all time gets butchered), I've slowly been viewing TAS-M just as bad as of late even when I gave TAS-M a 7/10 out of the first viewing and then it went down to 6/10 and now it's only getting worse everytime I think of the film(I don't own it), but just like S-M 3, here's another film that butchers my second favorite Spidey villain(Lizard).

I just can't get a break with these Spidey films messing up my favorite villains. And do you know what's worse? My third favorite villain is a tie between Shocker and Electro...and who's in TAS-M 2?

I'm a bit nervous, lol.

The Amazing Spider-man for me quite easily, I never really warmed to Maguire and the previous entries were a little too popcorn for my tastes with 2 been the standout, 3 was abysmal but 1 was decent. Amazing Spider-man was more serious and I loved Andrew Garfield, the chemistry him and Emma Stone have made AMS stand out as something more. Maguire and Dunstable never had that for me. I also preferred the costume in the new one (bit gutted they're changing it). I guess I just prefer the serious over the corny.
