It seems to me what they're doing is, in the case of Deathstroke, The Count, Deadshot, China White, The Huntress kinda, and so on, is introducing them and developing them further throughout the series. Helps move the story along and give the main cast proper time while still getting to flesh out out their villains. Now they seem bland but once they get deeper into the series they will seem stronger in retrospect.

What about Calender Man?
A criminal who commits his crimes according to a day of the week or a holiday seems like a character right up this show's alley.

Okay, here's one. A re-imagined Thomas Blake as the World's Greatest Hunter; a kind of villainous, barbaric Batman-type foe who tracks down and captures/kills witnesses, rivals, and now vigilantes for money. He was running with a literal lion pride after fleeing to Africa, and his experiences there mirror Oliver's on the island, though he became more of a close combat specialist and his amorality increased. He can even wear a variation on his Catman suit using the sonic listening gear from Batman as an excuse for his ears, some kind of full face mask, and that legendary lion pelt as his cape.

How on earth has no one mentioned Victor Zsasz? He would be absolutely perfect for this show. Before he became a mob enforcer/serial killer he used to be a billionaire (which means he could potentially be on the list, as well as add an interesting new dynamic)
I guess the biggest strike against him was that he appeared in Batman Begins and they might want to avoid Nolan references due to the similarity, but he was such a minor character in BB that no one would care. And they already showed they don't care about Nolan references when they cast Mr. Lau in a part. And I'd say Zsasz is probably on about the same level as Firefly in Batman's Rogues Gallery so it could be very conceivable. Maybe a serial killer is too dark for a CW show, but they could have him be be a lethal mob enforcer or something.

^ I think Onomatopeia is a must
Calendar Man is also a good choice. I still like Victor Zsaz, not too many people noticed that in BB did they? |

In the latest episode, there's a reference to the Bialyan president being assassinated in a news clip Diggs was reading. Could Queen Bee be in the horizon?

I think they could do Spellbinder, me might come across abit similar to Vertigo but if he's a counsellor like he was on Batman Beyond that would give him an interesting dynamic.

Pretty excellent choice for villain, I'd say! I hope we get her in the future!

I'm thinking with the Nada Parbat reference and Merlyn's League of Assassins backstory in the comics that perhaps they'll introduce the character Sensei (The father of Ra's al Ghul) as Malcolm's mentor.

You know what would make a good twist? What if Malcolm was trained by or trained with Yao Fei?

Back to calendar man, if this show runs for a long time, how awesome would a one year arc be, whereby Arrow would have say 6 holiday episodes running say X-mas to X-mas in which it's Ollie vs Calendar Man....
And these episodes are the only time he's ever seen or heard of ![]() Quote:
Malcolm seems to have a much more western style (fencing, outfit etc) compared to Ollie's eastern style. Plus he's basically the opposite of Ollie in terms of where they went and who they blamed after their tragedies. The guys who wrote the show pretty much confirmed the man he met was R'as, although they're not sure they can ever get that on TV. Last edited by Justin; 03-26-2013 at 12:02 PM. |

Would be nice to see The Joker's intellect from "The Batman" and Doomsday's strength and agility from "The Superman".... Now that would be a challenge, since Joker is Batman's biggest enemy, and Doomsday already managed to kill the Superman already,so it wouldn't be a problem for them to cause a massive destruction to a whole world together, even to a whole Justice League/Avengers anytime!

Someone mentioned Vandal Savage and I think that is a great idea. He could be like the main villian for a whole season. He comes into Starling City as some extremly rich person. And some crazy plan of course, and throughout the show they point toward his immortality never actually saying he is. Then toward the end of the show GA finds out hes immortal cause he finds like an ancient drawing of him. This could be their first foray into powers. Like for their 3rd or 4th season.

I think they're really going to struggle to top Malcolm Merlyn now. He had so much backstory and integration with Olivers family and with Tommy.
Deathstroke obviously has a lot of backstory as does Shado so either of them could be main series villain. The stilleto heeled girl who was in charge of the island, a lot of people thought was China White, but it seems like Ollie has only recently met China White in the present day. I'd like Queen Bee, not the alien but the intelligent sexy takeover lady, I think it would be great to see a strong female villain for the island arc. R'as would obviously be a series villain if they could get him. And Onomatopeia. Struggle to think who else could carry a season like Merlyn did. |

^Ra's will not show up in this show and that will probably be because he's off limits. I agree though, its going to be tough to top Merlyn especially because it was such a great take on the character and tying in the two families together. The next villain may not have that emotional impact that Malcolm did.
That said, I think for season two we'll see the island characters appear. Along with Brick taking over the Glades. Also the current comic is really good so far and they've introduced a new villain named Komodo which could easily be adapted. DC is also doing a new take on Vertigo with the concept art here http://www.dccomics.com/blog/2013/05...-count-vertigo. The writer of Green Arrow has some great ideas and as time so it will be interesting to see if they use them. It seems like he's developing a mysterious group of archers that would be ripe for the tv show. |

I think everyone would be happy if Deathstroke showed up. He's got the backstory and the great actor like Merlyn had. But yeah, introducing a new villain will be quite hard to top Barrowman's, he did an amazing job
