I think he signed a multi-picture contract with WB when he did Superman.

Remember at one point there was going to be sequel to Superman returns.Even when warner brothers in spring/summer 2008 made the decsion to do reboot reportly they asked
Bryan to do a reboot of Superman and he refused.Only Intrested In doing another Superman If he was doing a sequel to Superman. He was also devolping at warner brothers remake of
Excalibur till they axed It.It's fairly obvious X-Men,and new versions of Excalibur and battlestar Galactica were of more Intrest to him than Jack.

And he was the script doctor for:
Fantastic Four
Night of the Museum 2
Date Night
Knight and Day
Sherlock Holmes 2

Out of those movies, the movie that was well-received by critics was Sherlock Holmes and Kinberg was not even the 1st writer for that movie. There is no guarantee that he would deliver a great script. If DOFP ends up as good as X2/First Class then its going to be his best movie to date. I just hope he doesn't screw up again. And I hope Matthew Vaughn/Jane Goldman are still going to do some rewrites.

And you keep blaming Rothman. Rothman was the head of FOX and it was normal that he gave suggestions but its not an excuse for the writers to deliver a so-so script. The Xavier and Emma telepathic battle was cut because according to Vaughn, it would look similar to Inception. They didn't cut the scene because of budget concerns.
Have you guys watched the deleted scene featuring this Xavier/Jean telepathic battle? I have it on DVD. It's...bad.

And again, it's not so much Famke and Patrick, it's the horrid writing. Simon Kinberg just produces hackneyed verbiage combinations that consistently make me shudder and cringe. And he's used the term "[Enter Character Name] don't do this!" like a million times on so many films. It's gotten very cliché.

If Days Of Future Past fails, I don't think Bryan will be the issue. It's going to be the script. What happened to the guys who wrote X2, which was such a smartly written storyline?

They followed Bryan to Superman, and then fell off the face of the earth.

How tragic. We need to dig their bodies up and see what can be done to resuscitate them. LOL

I wouldn't be surprised If secret project they were working on with Bryan Is DOFP.Bryan already has writer working on Battlestar galactica remake.

Since we pretty know now that Cerebro Is In film now I am guessing Xavier uses it to try to find Magneto.Any new mutants at school are likely to already be there when film begins In 1973.

Don't forget part of film Is set In future. Then you have to spend time with X-Men,and brotherhood, and time at white house and Peter Dinklage character.
Plus any fixing to films. And we are looking at 2 hour running time.

I bet Magneto is going to be helping Xavier build that. It's been said in both of Bryan's X-films...it's gonna happen.

I said it more than a month ago, what if that secret thing they are working is X4?

we know Bryan is working on Ballestar Galactica, he wants to do a horror movie too, so.... what better secret could they have instead of X4?

Xavier Is not going to go 11 years without Cerebro.

People are convently forgetting one of core elements of DOFP Is battle between
X-Men and Brotherhood. This Is 2 hour film and a lot Is going on.

Why not? The lack of Cerebro could be the incentive to forge an alliance with him again. The actors had hinted at it back in an early post FC interview... Bryan is fixing continuity issues isn't he? This would be one of them...

A lot has changed since 2011.

So your expecting Xavier to go 11 years without cerebro.Watering down the great ending of first Class by having them magicly working together.Spend time to quickly recruit any new character.Spend time with Peter Dinklage's charatcer and whoever plays Nixon.Still have time to see Brotherhood plan assassination or attack.Have time traveler or Travelers contact 1973 era X-men.Plus you have future scenes too. That's an awful lot to expect In 2 hour timeframe.

Awesome picture. I wonder if the images we've been seeing of Cerebro and the subbasement are for the 1970s setting or the dystopian future or both? Either way, it will be interesting.

I get the impression that this set is smaller than the Original trilogy one.

dont know if they will make it bigger or use special effects later to do it, but maybe its for the 70's.

Id love to see the very first early design of some subway rooms, would be cool to see a 70's vibe, even if its high tech and its really similar to 00's version

Most likely 1973.
