So at this point, Microsoft really only has Forza, Fable, GoW and Halo, but PS3 has the likes of GT, Uncharted, GoW and Infamous (not to mention priority on Ubisoft games and RockSteady games). Also, isn't that new game with Ellen Page a PS4 exclusive?
Where have you been? ME was announced to no longer be exclusive back in 2010 with the first PS3 title released that following January. A trilogy featuring all 3 games was released this past fall on the system and ME3 is on all 3 major platforms.

Skyrim just got a patch last month which apparently fixed the issues it had and the DLC rolled out afterwards. The PS4 is being built with a PC based graphics card and is said to be easier to develop for, not to mention it will have 8gb of ram. Bethesda shouldn't have the same problems it had with the PS3 as Sony went straight to the developers for input on designing the system, which apparently is easier to code for.

That's genius! Good on Sony!

(Despite going 23-1 the last time I played Halo 4 - and that's only with 8hrs of total online gametime)

IF Xbox 3 is required to have an internet connection then is there a chance XBL will actually be FREE this time?Paying for internet service/a game console/games AND to play games&use features is WAY too much just to play some damn video game,Plus paying even more IF you want accessories&dlc..Then there's also paying for repairs!

WAY too much hassle to play games when there's other game consoles where you save money by not needing internet to use them or having to pay to play!

I think they would be going under the assumption that most people have basic internet so it wouldnt be an additional cost added on. They make way too much money on Live to just drop it.

As far as the always online rumor, I definetly think MS considered it, but ultimately I dont see it happening. It may happen on a game by game basis, but I dont see it being a standard across the board.

I just hope they at least put apps like the web browser/youtube/netflix/etc on Silver for free,XBL can still be successful since gamers are much more interested on the online performance&game content

I don't think they'll ever stop charging for Live.

And as Havok says most people who are interested in playing online would already have an online connection which even if unreliable is available most of the time. It's not really an additional cost as anyone who doesn't already have internet is unlikely to have cutting edge next gen gaming too high on their list and would likely be satisfied with current gen or earlier consoles. It'd be like including the cost of an HDTV in with a 360 or PS3. If you want to stay at the forefront of gaming technology you need to buy the supporting equipment. 4K or proper 3D might be needed to properly enjoy the gen after the next one for eg.

Both the used game & always online thing I think would go forward if their competitors did the same thing but if not (as is looking the case), I can't see how they can proceed with it.

That's what I find annoying about XBL, I can understand Microsoft charging to play online, but charging to get access to Netflix? That's just absurd.

Yeah, it seems like publishers will be pushing for this anti-rental technology more than Sony or Microsoft, which will offer a unique key technology in its hardware.

What bothers me about the whole mandatory Kinect thing ...is not the focus on casual type/ 'athletic' games or price (I think both PS4 and Xbox3 will have subscription type offers). My concern about Kinect is huge invasion of privacy...Microsoft is going to try to use the software to further monitor our personality/psychology constantly. Look how Microsoft pushed out Windows 8 on a world that didn't ask for it...(Basically a mash-up of tablet OS and Windows 7)....for sole purpose of taking on Google and Apple through its corporate world access. Kinect is going to be their linchpin into an Amazon type network that they're building...figure out what you want by determining your mood, behavior, personality type right in your living room. You can control what you search on Google or Amazon...but how you feel on a day to day basis is another animal.

Just put some duct tape over the lens when you're not using it.

Sony&MS may not be banning all used games But I'm fully expecting them to let game developers/publishers do it IF they want to..Which I'm betting the first companies to do it will be EA&Ubisoft!

The targeted advertising is an invasion of privacy agreed. Although it does tend to lend to better adverts. Now I get adverts for games, blu-rays, technology, sports equipment etc rather than viagra and insurance.

Definitely EA. I'm surprised they haven't already.

Yup, EA will start shipping out Activation codes for their game discs I bet when the next gen comes out.

bc the technology to do so isnt available yet. It'll likely be implemented into the next gen consoles when they ship

Like SolarTiger said, I could see EA requiring activation codes for games, similar to the online codes needed for game like Battlefield 3.

I wouldn't even say that it's all publishers. It really seems like most publishers like Take-Two and Activision are tolerating used games while EA, who have been acting exceptionally douchey lately, are the ones who have been most vocal about it.

I just filled my huge hard drive, only MB left & I can't download anything without deleting something else. Looks like I'll be getting that 1TB drive for next gen if those rumours are true. I really hope I can transfer this stuff, just for future's sake.

That sounds like a nightmare and proves why always online is never the way to go for single player games. Also, not surprised to find EA is behind it.
