Isn't it just. Currently started to collect and really get into Geoff John's trades. Oh' glory, imagine a series of films using all that mythology. Would give the Star Wars franchise a run for their money. I liked the film, but I think they throw much into it for apparently a start of a possible series. Too mega! That's the problem with some of these films, when you start like that, where else is there to go. The stakes should be upped in each successive film. That's why choosing Darkseid for the first JL feature (if it ever happens) isn't a good idea.

How about Sinestro for JL enemy? Mark Strong was one of the better parts of the film, wasn't he?! Could treat GL1 the way Avengers treated TIH, with new actor and minor lampshading. Don't really know how that would work with the comic mythology, but the one thing Avengers lacked, was some super-powered enemies other than Loki!

...but what you just described is the exact same thing as What the avengers did, taking one villain set up in one of the solo films as the major villain for the crossover.

I guess, it was just a suggestion, but there will always be similarities between two such similar franchises. It's all about the handling and execution.

Not a horrible idea in theory, but in practice, GL's terrible performance in theaters kills the idea. Too few people have positive exposure to the Mark Strong Sinestro for it to work especially well.

I agree, personally I wouldn't prefer GL1 to be canon, but I think we can agree that WB needs to get things moving, and taking a "sort of" basis in what is already out there is a way to do this. Like I say, they can lampshade, rewrite and recast for the better.

To be honest I think they should start anew aka The incredible hulk, Id love to have him appear in MOS 2 and warn of the threat in Justice league (darkseid) he's introduced and thats all you need and you only have to say what hes powers are and your sorted. GL will defiantly be the hulk of the dc universe

wishful thinking. I'm resigning myself to the fact that WB don't really know what they're doing most of the time! Idiotic. Really need to get their superhero franchise up and running. Letting Nolan self-contained the Dark Knight's world was naff. They could had employed a different actor if Bale wanted to jump and move forward with that depiction, whilst expanding the universe. Nolan dropped the ball on that last feature.

for me when i saw ryan reynolds- i just saw ryan reynolds not hal. its difficult, hal is old school and theres not a lot of actor i can see pulling that off these days..if anything, i would like to see josh dullhammell crossed with chris pine - i want hal to be serious, but with the occasional cocky humour thrown in - sort of harrison ford meets i dunno - sorry for the vague description, as i said , its hard!

Surprised how WB fumbled this one. The whole GL concept as written by Geoff is just perfect cinematic material, Top Gun meets Superman meets Star Wars meets Lord of the Rings.

He would be a good choice, as would Chad Coleman. I still feel JLA should go with Stewart instead of Jordan, but I don't see it happening.

If Marvel's GOTG is successful, will WB think of making GL 2 ?
Or they would rather not take any risk and wait till after JL movie ?

You know if WBs could get a big star to play John Stewart I'd love to see Will Smith in that role
Can't see it happening GL didn't even make a profit, I think WBs will be too scared to try again. Unless a star like I said above took an interest or a director like a Spielberg. Then they'd probably reconsider.

Cast Joe, let Steven direct, and this will be a mega success. |

I'd rather see him as Martian Manhunter. They need to build up the Green Lantern universe and create trilogy arcs for each Lantern. The "passing of the torch" so to speak.

I don't know if that's necessary I like how the Animated series did it. Hal was promoted to honor guard and his duties took him all around the galaxy. With earth lacking a dedicated GL, they made Guy Gardner the new GL. And when he again got promoted to honor guard, because of a universe threatening crisis, they made John Stewart the next GL.

I love Elba as Stewart, I mean...look at my signature. But is he still tied to Marvel?

I know we all are looking for potential stars in each role... But I feel Smith is a mismatch of epic proportions! He's probably a bigger name than Superman and Batman! That can't be good for the movie!
